Most beautiful woman I have ever seen

So I have been out with my friends and met her new boyfriend. He got a bit tipsy and kept saying my friend was the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.
My other friend asked her oh , he replied well I don’t want anyone else but no you are not.

Well this has caused a major rumpus aibu to a bit 🙄.

Yes OP, ALL teachers should be like Miss Honey from Matilda, never drink, never be insecure and NEVER argue with their husbands - I mean, you're teaching precious precious children, won't someone think of the children!!!!!

What a strange response. Did I hit a nerve?

GunpowderGelatine · 11/08/2018 07:34

No Diego, I'm not a teacher, I just thought your comment was bloody stupid. Are teachers not allowed to have disputes with their spouses because they're teaching the little darlings?

GunpowderGelatine · 11/08/2018 07:36

I don't need to ask DH s i know he'll respond "yes". Thing is, he's genuine because he's never had a crush on a female or male celebrity, and since he was 18 in the only girl he's ever been interested in

I hate to burst your bubble, but the chances of him NEVER having found another woman attractive are vanishingly slim. You can be in love with someone and still have working eyes in your head

Fevs · 11/08/2018 08:04

Totally agree with @GunpowderGelatine and thought exactly the same @DiegoMadonna

I’m not a teacher either but know tons and although great in their jobs of course they are humans too! A bit of a silly thing to say

QuimReaper · 11/08/2018 08:24

I know someone what lacks that social polish

This turn of phrase really made me laugh Grin

NataliaOsipova · 11/08/2018 08:29

My dh told me I was the most beautiful woman he’d ever met who was willing to shag him.

I'm still laughing at this one....I love it! 😂

JaretsGirlfren · 11/08/2018 08:34

I asked DP who was the most beautiful girl in the world, and told him to think carefully he said ‘DD of course, and you’re the most beautiful woman’

As an aside DD6 is from a previous relationship and his answer kicks all other answers ass Grin

IfyouseeRitaMoreno · 11/08/2018 08:47

This thread is brilliantly bonkers but I’m more interested in OP getting blind drunk and explaining the Doppler effect in a jiffy.

Please OP can you get drunk tonight just for this? Please! Five shots minimum.

Dopplerineffect · 11/08/2018 09:25

I went home. They were still arguing.

I prefer the truth but wish he hadn’t told it in this case.

3 lucky stars I saw a woman with the most beautiful skin I'd ever seen not so long ago.
She looked like she'd been airbrushed. Not a spot, freckle or mark in sight. I stared & stared. Straight here too with DH & DC but she was just beautiful!! Grin Grin

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 11/08/2018 10:05

There is an absolutely beautiful woman at my dc school
Not in a commercial model way, she’s just got a presence and a beauty

alohaberry · 11/08/2018 10:09

I just asked my OH who the most beautiful woman in the world is, and without giving it even a seconds thought he said his nana. And he’s right, she is Flowers

DiegoMadonna · 11/08/2018 10:43

No Diego, I'm not a teacher, I just thought your comment was bloody stupid. Are teachers not allowed to have disputes with their spouses because they're teaching the little darlings?

Of course they are. But the argument described in the OP is extremely juvenile. And teachers are supposed to be more adult than the kids they're teaching.

Does that make sense now? I don't know why you're being so passive aggressive tbh.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 11/08/2018 10:58

And teachers are supposed to be more adult than the kids they're teaching
But they weren't teaching at that moment they were adults out on a social do
Workplace demeanour and social demeanour can be different. It’s permissible

DiegoMadonna · 11/08/2018 11:02

Of course it's "permissible" for God's sake. I was making a throwaway comment about the irony of teachers acting like teenagers.

GoatWoman · 11/08/2018 11:07

I just asked DP.

Looong pause then 'you're the most beautiful woman......in my eyes'

Grin
C0untDucku1a · 11/08/2018 12:09

Shouldnt all adults be more adult than children?

TheSassyAssassin · 11/08/2018 12:28

Shouldnt all adults be more adult than children?

Not sure about that... there are def moments DD (9) pulls me up on my childish behaviour Grin

Happypuppy · 11/08/2018 12:43

Diego Madonna reminds me of those awful examples people gave of parents on the thread the other day where the teacher had checked out of a hotel because a family with some kids she taught were there.

DiegoMadonna · 11/08/2018 12:46

Oh I'm sorry. I take it all back. OP, your friends are all very mature and getting upset because your OH didn't say you were the most beautiful woman he's ever seen is totally normal adult behaviour. Sorry I misspoke

DiegoMadonna · 11/08/2018 12:49

Shouldnt all adults be more adult than children?

As I said, it was a throwaway comment about the childishness of the argument described in the OP. The fact that they are teachers just added to the irony (for example, like how nobody should play with matches, but firefighters playing with matches would be even more surprising). I forgot how much mumsnetters looking for an e-argument like to take things horribly out of context though.

XiCi · 11/08/2018 12:57

The most shocking thing about this thread is that someone thinks benedict cumberbatch is beautiful. Just shows how much beauty is in the eye of the beholder. He has a face like a bag of spanners Grin

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 11/08/2018 13:31

I think benedict cumberbatch is a fine actor with a face like a mangled shoe

DiegoMadonna · 11/08/2018 13:37

There's something about being famous that makes many entirely normal-looking people much more desirable in general public opinion than they otherwise would be.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 11/08/2018 13:43

Yes of course,as they play out in a favourable or exciting way on screen
