Rottweilers1 · 10/08/2018 17:57

I always cook the fucking dinner. Every night.
Dp kicks off over combination, makes me feel like shit.

AIBU to just not cook tomorrow or ever againand when he asks when dinners ready give him a blank stare Grin or is that too petty?

I'd never cook again either OP .. but I'll always cut off my nose to spite my face.. Grin

KinkyAfro · 10/08/2018 18:01

I'm interested to hear the combination before i comment!

Rottweilers1 · 10/08/2018 18:01

He’s just come in huffing and saying ‘I didn’t eat the broccoli but I ate the rest.’

Hun, starve.

Singlenotsingle · 10/08/2018 18:02

Combination of what, please, OP?

Rottweilers1 · 10/08/2018 18:02

@kinkyafro
Literally a veggie crispy bake (which are delicious), new potatoes, carrots and broccoli with some gravy. Not like I gave the family a bowl of beans and ketchup ffs.

He doesn't like your food so cook for yourself alone. Let him sort himself out

timeisnotaline · 10/08/2018 18:03

It doesn’t sound petty to me!

PinkHeart5914 · 10/08/2018 18:03

Depend what your dishing up I suppose? If it’s ice cream and broccoli on the same plate he should LTB

Medea13 · 10/08/2018 18:06

Well, it sounds like the meal lacks protein. So that is a bit unreasonable -- a plate of just veg in various forms is not a meal.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 10/08/2018 18:06

My DP thinks my cooking is bland (granted... my forte is not in the kitchen, but I’m ok 🤷🏻‍♀️).

Now, he does about 85% of the cooking.

He is better at it though.

Hellywelly10 · 10/08/2018 18:07

I think you deserve a break from 'wife work' op.

foodiefil · 10/08/2018 18:09

Mmm sounds yummy

foodiefil · 10/08/2018 18:09

Oh sorry, YANBU.

What was wrong with the combo?

fuzzywuzzy · 10/08/2018 18:10

Cook for yourself and don’t bother with him.

When he asks where his food is, reply simply oh I thought you decided you didn’t want me to cook for you. Then enjoy your meal and never cook for him again.

My DP doesn’t ever criticise my cooking even on the occasion when I’ve experimented and failed miserably and the food is unpalatable.

FromNowOn · 10/08/2018 18:13

If you don’t like it cook yourself, is what you should be saying. Then stick with that. The only thing that would bother me is someone else putting gravy on for me.

Botanicbaby · 10/08/2018 18:19

He’s just come in huffing and saying ‘I didn’t eat the broccoli but I ate the rest.’

How old is he? 5? Are you suppose to reward him for eating dinner? Confused

longwayoff · 10/08/2018 18:23

Hmm. Hope u told him no pudding unless he eats the broccoli

Flyme21 · 10/08/2018 18:24

Make him a star chart. Knobhead!

Gemini69 · 10/08/2018 18:26

Make him a star chart. Knobhead!

PMSL... This Grin

chuckiecheese · 10/08/2018 18:27

I would cook enough for you both and he can choose whether to eat it or not. If he behaves like a child, treat him like one! Wink

LeftRightCentre · 10/08/2018 18:28

I wouldn't cook for him again.

MelbourneClown03 · 10/08/2018 18:32

YNBU What a cockwipe

I would simply say tomorrow, "you don't like what I cook and I don't appreciate my efforts being poo-pooed by you, so paddle your own canoe"

BadHairDyeDay · 10/08/2018 18:36

I hate cooking and am not great at it but my DH is even worse. Literally if it was left to him we would all be either obese or malnourished. So I have a go and do the best I can. However DH has never once complained about any of my meals. I think he knows that as soon as he does that will be it. I will never cook for him again. Your OH is being VVU. Oh by the way thanks for the meal idea!

Rottweilers1 · 10/08/2018 18:42

He’s just come in the bedroom and asked why I’m moody and when I’ve said you’re an ungrateful fuck I’ve had the response ‘if that’s how you feel’.

Ready to bung him out of the door tbh. Doesn’t realise how easy he has it.

OP he needs to do his share. It doesn't matter if he 'can't' cook, that meal is essentially boiled or steamed veg and a crisp bake that goes in the oven, I'm not knocking you, my point is anyone including him can make a dinner like that, so I think it's about time he took his turn and stopped complaining
