Son with narrow feet, school shoe shopping hell

My son has very narrow feet, less than a C fitting as I was told yesterday by the Clark’s school shoe fitter. They had nothing that fitted my son, so I left empty handed. Always managed to get something that fitted, think as they have grown they have narrowed - he has size 8 feet now at the age of 11. Can anyone suggest a brand that might carry shoes in such a size? Schools are back on next Tuesday, the 14th.

If anyone’s wondering why I’ve left it so late, it’s because last year I bought him a pair a week before schools went back, then he put them on for his first day back and they were too small!

I have this with my twins, they are much younger and we have had this issue from the start but measure either a c or a d and most only start at an e. I have found startrite marginally narrow fitting so that the e tends to fit. Alternatively I have taken them to an independent local place (Jump in Newcastle) great but expensive. Their dad- who they get the narrow feet from can usually find something in Charles Cinkard.

I also take mine to independent shoe shop that stocks lots of Europeans brands like superfit, primagi, petesil, ricosta, Ecco. They always know the brands and styles really well and know which shoes suit which shape feet.

I have one ds with very narrow feet and one with very wide. I think narrow ds usually wears ricosta or superfit. He also needs a shallow shoe as deeper shoes catch his ankle bone.

My DS 11 has exactly the same size feet, we’ve just got some from M and S in the sale. I didn’t realise their children’s shoes went up to that size, but he says they’re really comfy and don’t seem too wide. I’m really worried about what will happen when he can no longer get children’s shoes, as he tried a pair of men’s shoes on and they were like boats!!!
