To ask what phone you would upgrade too?

Just looking for opinions. Can upgrade next week and have no idea what to go for.

Have had an iPhone for the last 5 years....usually I'd just upgrade and get the iPhone 8 but I don't know if I fancy a change.

Only thing that's putting me off is if I were to get a Samsung....how to do I transfer all my photos/videos and music on to it? Or is that not even possible?

Anyone upgraded recently and can say what phone they love and what phone they were disappointed with?

Thank you kindly Smile

Apple has me too but we’re Mac central here so everything is compatible and it makes life very easy.

InsuranceGirl · 09/08/2018 16:49

@Bluebelltulip I did not know about the phone clone they offer so that’s really useful

Pippylou · 09/08/2018 16:58

I actually had the One Plus One...and have taken ages to pick a new one. Hate changing phone, so have pondered for ages. I got a refurbished one off ebay to bring the cost down a bit.

Roussette · 09/08/2018 17:19

I hope you get on with it alright Pippy. I love my OnePlus

Pippylou · 09/08/2018 17:31

Yeah, the OnePlus, even with it being the very first model has been great. I really didn't want to change! :-)

upsidedownfrown · 09/08/2018 17:35

I've had the Huawei p20 pro for a few weeks now. Phenomenal camera, nice and fast when navigating lots of screens and apps, and the battery life is amazing. It's so pretty too! I got the colour that looks all mermaid-y

upsidedownfrown · 09/08/2018 17:38

Oh and as pp has said, it has a huge memory. I phone cloned every single pic and video from my old phone and it's barely touched the sides. The only downside of p20 pro is that you can't directly plug in any old headphones. But it does come with some as well as a headphone adapter so you can use your fave headphones.

It also charges super quick

JakePeraltaNYPD · 09/08/2018 17:41

I recently upgraded from an iPhone to a Huawei P20 Pro and it was the best decision ever! The camera is great and it's so easy to use! Smile

Pippylou · 09/08/2018 17:54

I'm glad there's so much Huawei love, I need to start using mine. Got the sim activated today...

LoveInTokyo · 09/08/2018 18:42

Just checked the box my phone came in and it is the P20. Smile

Greedycushionhoarder2 · 09/08/2018 19:01

I've had the Huawei p20 for a month now and can't fault it, dh has the p10 and is looking at the p20 pro for his upgrade, he's very into tech and reckons the are the best in the market at the mo.

Furrycushion · 10/08/2018 14:25

Why not hang on to the phone you've spent 2 years paying for, have a bit of a break with a SIM only deal, & see what comes along in the next few months.

mostdays · 10/08/2018 14:38

If money was less of an issue I'd get the latest Samsung. I love Samsungs- I know they're overpriced and you're really paying for the brand name, but I just prefer Samsung's S range phones to every other one I've had. I have an s5 at the moment which is dying and I'm really going to miss it when it goes.

LoveInTokyo · 10/08/2018 14:40

I agree in principle, but IME iPhones don't really last much longer than two years. (Which is why I broke up with Apple.)

HellenaHandbasket · 10/08/2018 14:43

I hate paying lots for phones so stick to the Motorola g range. Currently on 6 and very happy with it.

happymummy12345 · 10/08/2018 14:43

I love iPhones so wouldn't change. However I don't like how big the newest few models have been. I had the SE, and when I was due an upgrade I just got a new handset of the exact same phone, the SE. Dh had the 6 and I couldn't use it comfortably, so I knew I didn't want anything bigger than the 5 model size. So I'm happy enough.

PattiStanger · 10/08/2018 14:51

I have a while left on my contract but keep seeing people raving about a Huawei, can anyone explain what about their phones are so much better than other ones?

I can't really think of anything my current phone doesn't do and would like to have some specifics about what is good about them apart from the camera which does get mentioned a lott

HoomanMoomin · 10/08/2018 14:55

I have iPhone 6s for a third year now. I decided not to upgrade because I couldn’t afford to get 8 or X. Got sim only contract and will upgrade after it runs out. Maybe.
Unless the new models in September will be as expensive as ones last year. Then I might consider One plus.

LoveInTokyo · 10/08/2018 15:03

PattiStanger

I've only been using mine for a few days but:

Camera is amazing
Battery life excellent (but then I had low expectations after my iPhone)
Really easy to set up and intuitive to use (even after a decade as an iPhone user)

I have a Samsung for work and don't like it at all.

PattiStanger · 10/08/2018 15:25

Thansk you loveintokyo, my current phone is android with a good battery, I could be tempted by a better camera but was thinking I could save some money by going SIM only when my contract ends

Roussette · 10/08/2018 15:37

Do look at a OnePlus, they're android and the battery life is better than any other phone and charging takes about half an hour!

When I went in the o2 shop there were about 5 assistants in there. Every single one of them had a OnePlus. That made my mind up!

PattiStanger · 10/08/2018 15:50

How long does the battery last in real life, I've found in the past that you don't get as long as the salesmen say

Roussette · 10/08/2018 16:28

So hard to say... on my OnePlus5, it can last 2 days. But I don't watch videos on it or listen to music. However, do use it for email, twitter, FB etc.

BadderWolf · 10/08/2018 18:48

Also on a OnePlus (5) and it's brilliant.

bruffin · 10/08/2018 18:54

Dh and Ds both have Pixel 2s which they love, but im stickin with Samsung Upgrading next month from 7edge to 9. Although i keep thinking about Haewai
