I need a monster sized sofa, it needs to be in excess of 3.5 meters long.

I currently have a denelli but its battered after 7 years of life and a filthy toddler.

Would prefer to get the sofa on finance.

Must be great quality I dont know where to look!

I got a big leather corner sofa from DFS - I like them. No idea if they do ones over 3m though...

whatonearthcoulditbe · 08/08/2018 18:13

sorry 2.93 meter long

Hi Black thats a good idea ill have a look its 2.9 meters i made a mistake. just got a measuring tape to check. The style is nothing like what we have though. Our house is one of those typical trendy or think they are trendy families with stripped back black wooden floors. I want something more boxy or even a chesterfield style that is made of a dark material ( not leather, it isnt cosy! )

How about the Vallentuna from Ikea. It's modular so you can make it as long as you like with corner bits / sofa bed bits / storage bits as suits.

My experience of Ikea sofas has been good.

Ours is a sofology one and apart from it not fitting in the space we ordered it for (my fault - fits the other way around but our house is a stupid shape) - it's fine. Very dark charcoal grey sofabed one (although usually buried under a million sofa throws because of kids+dog+husband). The back cushions need more plumping up than I'd like but that's the design of them being cushion stuffing not foam these days and my husband being a sofa killing twit.

Was all delivered fine, although they appear to have tougher installation guidelines on the free Neal the Sloth than the actual sofa as he came in his own bag and had to be cermemonially located in splendour on the sofa - before being nicked by DD2 and taken for a tea party upstairs in her bedroom (think she sensed a kindred spirit since DD2 is about 90% sloth at the best of times)!

And Ikea do interest free credit too.

Flyme21 · 08/08/2018 18:24

Trustpilot reviews are good for Sofology, I was very pleased with the service and quality when I brought, from their "outlet" part of the website.

PanannyPanoo · 08/08/2018 18:30

This is 2.79.

We bought 3 sofa's from sofa sofa 4 years ago. Really happy with them.

whatonearthcoulditbe · 08/08/2018 18:32

Thank you everyone these are some great ideas.

The reviews on trust pilot are great for Sofology but then theres another website which has some diabolicle ones.

The one we have at the moment was about 4k and it feels totally excessive to have one that expensive (which is now trashed)

Have you heard of/looked at Nabru.co.uk? We got ours from there a couple of years ago. You can basically build your own sofa. You have to put it together yourself, unless you live within a certain distance of their showroom and you can pay for a building service, but it's not that difficult to do yourself if you don't mind doing flat pack furniture.

Ours is so comfortable, I'd recommend them to anyone.

SistersOfPercy · 08/08/2018 19:40

I'm sat on a sofology sofa now. Didn't have an issue. Nice sofa, good quality and delivered when they said.

Remember, you'll rarely read a good review as people don't tend to shout about it when all goes well.

IMissGin · 08/08/2018 19:46

I found their post sales customer service shit. On the other hand had an excellent experience with sofa.com - can’t recommended them enough

5000KallaxHoles · 08/08/2018 20:10

I remember I panicked like mad about reading bad reviews after we ordered our new bed recently - loads of talk about bad delivery guys, broken beds, soggy mattresses etc... and it was all completely and utterly fine.

nokidshere · 08/08/2018 21:11

My sofas were new recently from sofology. They are exactly as described on the website, the process of buying was easy, they were delivered on time and all packaging removed and they are extremely comfortable. We got a burn mark on the arm from a candle and someone came round, assessed it, ordered a new part and delivered it quickly.

Iltavilli · 08/08/2018 21:20

It’s such a shame you’re posting now. We bought two large and excellent sofas from John Lewis in their clearance / special buy event. Equivalent sofas at DFS were similar price to John Lewis special buys and didn’t have their significantly increased guarantees. How urgently do you need them?

ScattyCharly · 08/08/2018 21:27

Ikea definitely

Rosetree123 · 08/08/2018 21:31

I just got mines delivered from sofology on Friday there, everything was smooth and I love my sofa. There is a refurbished section on their website and I happened to find the one I loved online in grade A refurbished with a thousand pound off Smile honestly couldn't fault them.

Peaspleaselouise · 08/08/2018 21:34

Another Nabru customer here! We have a MASSIVE corner sofa and was less than £1k. It’s really the centre piece for our family time now

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/08/2018 21:56

To my mind, what you need is a company with enough experience to attract furniture makers who know what they're doing, who care about their reputation and who stand a better than even chance of being here his time next week

So forget anyone whose name sounds like it was invented by an advertising agency, offers silly financial terms or indulges in shouty TV adverts and get recommendations for a long standing, local company who'll actually make it for you

Before learning this I used to think such places were stuck in the past and very, very expensive ... and I was wrong on both counts

ninjawomble · 08/08/2018 22:16

I got mine from jamesandrose.co.uk . Custom made in any fabric and size, handmade in UK and delivered nationally. They have solid wood frames so you can have them recovered in the future, so a good investment. Highly recommended with excellent reviews .

Helloisitteaurlookingfor · 08/08/2018 22:19

What's shocking about their reviews? I can only see positive ones. I have a Sofology sofa and their service was great and my sofa has also been great.

LittleKitty1985 · 09/08/2018 00:12

We've had our Sofology corner sofa for about 6 months and still love it, no complaints here about the quality or service. Plus it was only £1000.

I wouldn't buy one from IKEA, they start to look awfully shabby in just a few months.

Charlotte1975 · 09/08/2018 07:35

Try www.circusinteriors.co.uk I bought a gorgeous genuine Sofology sofa from them at half the price. Love it! Speak to Jacki, she was lovely and organised delivery very quickly.

LadyPenelopeCantDance · 09/08/2018 07:41

Have you looked at Sofas And Stuff? We have had our last two sofas from them and would recommend.

Link below is a material Chesterfield style that might suit you.
