Husbands bought a hoover he knew I didn't like

Fully prepared to be told I'm BU, but need to hear opinions. My husband decided
We needed a new hoover today, he went off and a new top of the range cordless Dyson, to replace our old Dyson. I hate the old one and said to him I would never have bought a new one. He said he knew that.

Is it me, or is that really disrespectful Only a hoover I know, but I seem to compromise on everything we buy for the house, and he's just pissed me off.

@bubblyone that's precisely why I'm keeping my 2005 dc13 going for as long as possible - I won't give him any more money.
