Just got home from asda an a couple are having a massive argument, there was lots of shouting and swearing, oh is upstairs in bed not feeling well he said they've been at it ages and he's surprised no-one has called the police. The woman from the couple started throwing things out of the window. So I rang the police, the call handler didn't seem that bother he said they will make enquiries, we've only lived here 6 months never spoken to these people and now I'm wondering if I did the right thing ringing.

It's a "breach of the peace" certainly. Whether the police are interested, as there's no one being hurt, rather depends on what else is kicking off today.

I probably wouldnt have rung the police unless it was happening all the time, I knes there were children involved or I was concerned there was a physical attack going on. Did you calll 999 or 101?

No point stressing about it now, whats done is done.

jmh740 · 04/08/2018 15:34

I didn't ring 999 I rang the local police number. I was in an abusive relationship when I was much younger and that probably affects the way I feel about things. I wasn't bothered because of the noise I wanted to make sure they are both ok.
