....with dishes still in it she didn't even move them just poured the wee over them!

does anyone else think this is a bit Eeeewwwwwwww? i think she noticed my expression and said 'oh sorry don't you do that' to which i said 'no normally just put down the loo actually'.

Its not a friendship ruiner by any means i was just a bit surprised that people do this (but i am a clean freak admittidly). Am i off the mark here is this normal?

eeeeeewwwwwww

lyrabelacqua · 31/05/2007 23:22

I have to admit I did sometimes empty ds1's potty down the kitchen sink when i was too lazy to go upstairs to the bathroom but ONLY if it was empty and even then I'd always rinse it out and spray on a bit of bleach spray. Would NEVER do it round someone else's house.

wrinklytum · 31/05/2007 23:30

YANBU!

sparklesandwine · 31/05/2007 23:31

ah all makes sense no Lyrabelaqua thank you

Is your toilet upstairs?

I can imagine that the potential for spills is actually worse if negotiating stairs with a full potty.

If you are a clean freak why were there dishes in your sink .

Pinkchampagne · 01/06/2007 10:15

You are definitely NOT being unreasonable!!

Oh how I love a wandering trolley!

DimpledThighs · 01/06/2007 10:20

I would put some water and washing up liquid in the sink and applaud myself at having such non-conformists friends!

kittypants · 01/06/2007 10:23

eurgh!i am not a clean freak-i wish i was- but thats not nice!yuk yuk yuk.

Desiderata · 01/06/2007 10:23

It wouldn't bother me at all

Seriously ... it's just wee. How on earth do some of you manage to change a nappy?

soapbox · 01/06/2007 10:25

Urine is sterile- so no germy problem.

So no, it wouldn't bother me.

Well, personally I like a sloven. You know where you are with a sloven.

sauce · 01/06/2007 10:33

Grrrroooossss! It's worse than someone stubbing out their cigarette in a dinner plate.

sparklesandwine · 01/06/2007 10:36

yeah i know wee is sterile and admittidly if the sink had been empty or if she emptied it first i prob wouldn't have posted but it was the fact that she literaly poured it over my dishes that i was about

there was no poo kerrymum - i think i would have said something more to her if there had been!

LOL wandering trolley!!!

Chirpygirl · 01/06/2007 10:46

That's nasty! Not os bad if sink was empty but over your dishes? ick!

I had a friend round who threw up in my sink once, he actually walked past the bathroom, came downstairs from the room he was sleeping in to do it as well as that is what he had done when sick as a child....that's gross!

nannytania · 01/06/2007 11:19

that's groos. My brother in law, and wife change their sons nappies in our house and leave them lying everywhere!! Wee ones only thankgod.
Next to the fireplace, the stairs, the pool table, the sofa.

Gross, gross, gross.

choosyfloosy · 01/06/2007 11:20

sink and pee no probs if it's MY sink and MY child's pee but someone else's sink, my child's pee and someone else's dishes?? come on desiderata! really?

and urine may be sterile when it comes out but not after it's splashed all over the tiles and sat on top of the dishes in the sunshine for a while

eerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Furrymummy · 01/06/2007 11:30

Urine used to be used to wash clothing.
However, culturally it's not acceptable to pee in a sink - that's what toilets are for.
Therefore she is a dirty slattern!!

Noellefielding · 01/06/2007 15:53

I still think that it's excellent etiquette to put yr child's dirty nappy in the outside bin - why not? Who wants their kitchen to stink of old nappies?

ernest · 01/06/2007 15:58

nasty nasty nasty.

And nappies - our way ettiquette demands you take 'em with you. At very least leave in an outside bin

She should be thankful you aren't Maori - from what I can tell she would have seriously offended. For instance even getting a glass of water from the bathroom or laundry room tap is not the done thing (even though it's all the same water) so I can only imagine that putting wee in the one sink you can get a glass of water from is REALLY bad.
