My point exactly, Roussette, 'good, old-fashioned rallies' these are not. There has always been dabble rousing, banter, etc., but these Oaf fests are something else, more dangerous.
I've heard arguments for just one camera and pool reporter covering these rallies now, lion, can't recall which show it was on yesterday, but both commentators favoured it. It would get the reporting job done just as well. Apparently, the first thing the Oaf does when he gets on stage is do a quick scan of the ranks of cameras and journos . I think it is the way to go. Of course, he will make something of it, with taunts and calling them out as cowards, or some such. But he uses and abuses them now. However, the media still make huge revenue off the Oaf, so I can see there being reluctance in just using a pooler. (I'll see if I can track down the exchange)
