Following on from the hilarious is my hedgehog fucked thread, I thought I'd pick up my tools and make another cake. Specifically for BIL's big 30th birthday party.

Be honest, is there any saving this? Or am I destined to a life where people point at me in the street and laugh?

Update- cakes are being baked tomorrow. Icing takes place on Thursday.

I've frozen bought birthday cake and it was okay. We can make a frozen Frozen cake 😂 last months in this house!

I think so, but you’d need to be wary of it sweating as it defrosted. Do you have a dehumidifier? If you do freeze it, I’d move it to the fridge first, then freeze, then defrost via fridge then next to dehumidifier when it’s out.
A Pokemon cake I did last year was v v sweaty after just a night in the fridge, as i took it straight from fridge to party.
It’ll def need time to adjust to temperature.

Charmander ‘glowing’.... It did dry off after a couple of hours, but I imagine frozen fondant would have the same issue.

Fraid not! But thank you. I only do cakes for family and the odd friend, but am being leaned on to start doing them for ££!

Making me smile as my kitchen is looking similar. 3 year olds birthday party on Saturday so cakes have been baked ready for carving. Attempting to make bear from 'Marsha and Bear'. Fingers crossed it turns out ok as with 30 people arriving on Saturday to our house won't have time to re-bake if it goes wrong and still sort out the house (and work!).
