So I just finished watching call the midwife yesterday. It has been recommended on this boards to me. Can you recommend another series which I will most likely like if I liked call the midwife?

The Crown maybe?
Downton Abbey?

I've just started and am enjoying Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, it's on netflix. Obviously it's murder mysteries but it's not that different underneath: female lead, full spectrum of realistic female characters, period, nicely filmed, interesting side characters, puzzle solving, reasonably happy endings (considering it's about murders... the meat of the episode is less likely to make you cry than CTM though!)

I started it because I've seen other people recommend it when asked about programs similar to CTM, and I wasn't sure but I see what they mean now!

A place to call home. It’s on Drama I think. Similar type show, nurse in Australia set in 1950’s
