AIBU to ask about your weird injuries?

I was trying (and failing) to fly a kite today. I somehow managed to get one of the strings in my mouth as I looked back as I ran inelegantly trying to get the fecker up in the air. My gums are bruised and sore.

I once also threw myself on my sofa in a teenage strop and punctured my buttock with a sticking up wire coat hanger.

Anyone else? Amuse me. I bored.

I have punched myself in the face and bitten my tongue so hard it bled and swelled up in my sleep.
I rolled over on the sofa and temporarily dislocated my shoulder.
I rolled over in my sleep and banged my nose on the wall.
I've also punched dh twice in my sleep.(I promise I was sleeping!!)
We didn't ever do co-sleeping for obvious reasons!

I was curling my hair naked (my thinking was I could let it set while getting dressed) and dropped the curling iron on my boob. Burnt my nipple.

Tripped over playing catch at school and bit through my lower lip. Another time I sliced the top off my left ring finger by just opening a gate. Really odd.

I’m currently sporting a very sore left index finger which I managed to hurt in my yoga class.

I shaved my upper lip Blush

I had seen my Dad and Grandad do it and I thought it's just what people did. I used shaving foam and did it properly mind. I was at my Grandma and Grandad's at the time. I can still remember the pain even now about 35 years later

My Grandma did nothing other than wait for my Mum to collect me and then I was just told how silly I was. No treatment. I could have bled to death

I tried to pull up the duvet in my sleep and punched myself in the face.
Did spectacular splits on a wet kitchen floor.
A friend of mine woke up one morning and found he had dislocated his elbow in his sleep.

I accidentally cut my chin whilst shaving my underarms (think doing in Mirror in a hurry)
My sister took great joy in telling people I cut myself shaving (they probably thought I was hiding a beard problem)

Many!
Broken ribs whilst making DC bed - bunk bed I forgot and stepped backwards off top of ladder
Sex injury - very well endowed DP and I ended up with stitches as did he (don’t ask.....)
Intercostal tear - in office I was trying to throw rubbish into waste paper bin
Broken collar bone whilst driving an old heavy vehicle that didn’t have power steering

Dislocated & broke my toes when I stubbed them in the middle of the night on an exercise bike next to my bed.
Also broke my foot, ankle & leg (& dislocated the ankle) when I fell over running for a last bus home. Got my mum to pick me up & for some reason assumed I'd only sprained it, so got home & slept..Next day went to the doctors & then spent the next 2 weeks in hospital after pretty major surgery to repair the damage

I fractured my skull after changing my mind about the highest diving board and slipping down the ladder on the way back down.

Fell down a loft ladder and ended up up with a huge bruise on my bum cheek. I was being nosey and forgot the loft hatch was covered with a polystyrene square.
Broke my toe changing a light bulb.
Took a chunk out of my finger trying to catch a glass falling out of a cupboard

I sprained my pinky wiping my arse.

I still haven't figured out how but I managed to catch my pinky and it bent back, I felt a twang and that was that. I couldn't move it for 2 weeks!

Several bruised elbows / funny bone from trying to undo bra (hence elbows out to side) whilst walking from bathroom to bedroom, to multi-task / save time 😂
But forgetting I'm now wider than normal .... and smacking elbows off door frames.

When I was 7 I cut my lip with a nail clipper. I don't know why. I also stood on a glass when I was 5 when I was getting out of the bath both left scars. I was a clumsy kid.

My latest one was burning the skin under my stomach because I got nair on it and didn't notice until it had melted my skin. I was trying to avoid my cat.

Dear life, some of these are awful and some of them are horrible, but there are some corkers!

dislocated hip while having sex in slightly unusual position due to broken leg is sublimely ridiculous.

I got hit by a horse in Hyde park when walking on the grass (not on the horse section) it got soooked and charged right at me 🙈

More recently I also was going to watch a show and tripped over a disabled sign and fell down a step, twisted my ankle and now almost 8 weeks later it’s still causing me problems 🙈

A rock fell on my foot breaking all my toes including the toe nails, some of which I had to have pulled off in A&E as they were poking out of my nail beds and all jagged.
I had no toenails for a long time
Big toenail has never been the same and some of my other toes don’t look right but it all healed up. Lucky I didn’t break my foot

PippaPug Have you had it x rayed? A friend of mine walked around on hers for 2 weeks, then an x ray showed it was broken.

Punched myself in the face more than once whilst putting my bra on - I do it up back to front and then swivel it round, which can be dangerous if you pull hard and it slips out of your hand...

Scratched my cornea when I turned round at a gig and someone threw an empty cup which hit me in my open eye.

Bruised the inside of my upper arm when I slipped and hit my arm on the edge of a dining chair. The reason I slipped was that the roof had been leaking and there was a puddle on the floor.

I’ve had so many but this is he most long lasting. Injury caused ny three Lego bricks being pushed into my plaster cast as a toddler.

For extra dramatic effect my dad had to take me to A&E on Christmas morning as I was super grizzly ( Hmm ) and m mum had flu. They had 3 under 5s and I was the youngest. God knows how they survived.

I have 3 perfect triangular scars on my thigh. Nobody has ever come close to guessing their province.

Ooh, and a recent one! Have a red mark on the bridge of my nose, caused by me falling asleep whilst on my phone and therefore dropping it.

Stepped off the bottom step at the exact time the dog slid her bowl down the hall and I ended up rolling my ankle and tearing ligaments. Dog looked most pissed off that she had to wait for her dinner.

Gotta admit that Florals splinter and screamlikeyoumeanit nail in foot made me feel rather queasy.
