To go against my own advice and do slimfast for 4 weeks?

I go on holiday in 4 weeks. I had good intentions of losing weight and shaping up before hand and I was doing so well, however I've let myself go since this hot weather started - bbqs, lager and far too hot for gym ... now I've put on half a stone! All my holiday clothes are too tight.
I need a quick fix.

I've always said slim fast was a mugs game but I'm not gonna lose enough weight by my usual calorie counting and gym in 4 weeks!

AIBU to do a slim fast crash diet?

You could absolutely lose half a stone in 4 weeks - lots of water, excercise and sticking to your calorie allowance on something like MFP.

I lost half a stone this last week, that I put on during my holidays, by a combination of intermittent fasting and low carb high fat.

In total I think i’ve Lost 6 or 7 stone this way

Blobby10 · 27/07/2018 13:36

OP why did you feel the need to 'lose weight and tone up' before your holiday? Why put this pressure on yourself?

I'm genuinely curious - may be to do with my holidays for most of my life have consisted of camping in the UK so generally layers of clothes with lots of walking and suchlike!

food tastes better than sugar shakes (and that is what they are) and is cheaper too.

why pay for useless muck? the crap diets always fail, it is the business model.

specialsubject · 27/07/2018 13:52

and blobby10 is right. what is so important about a holiday? everyone else will be in their knickers on the beach too.

Slim fast is gross and just didn't work for me, the shakes don't keep me full.

I'm not against meal replacement shakes though as they do work and provide a good stepping stone to calorie reduction and weight loss- I have lost over a stone on juice plus (not a seller and not necessarily advocating it- it's super expensive) I used to be on two shakes a day and have now gone down to one and increased meals/snacks of healthy foods.

Im going to do 2 weeks just so im getting out of the habit of grazing on shit. Will make it easy and buy ready meals etc for each evening and hope the initial loss spurs me on. Got to start somewhere.

Exante. Sod slimfast.

MessyBun247 · 27/07/2018 14:54

As long as you know you will pile all the weight back on when you stop doing it (and fuck up your metabolism in the process). Just go and enjoy your holiday

Starting Exante tomorrow to loose 5 stone. I am here again... I have lost 3 or 4 stone using lipotrim before. Cost a fortune. Then got a gastric bypass. I had to get it taken out, twisted etc., so very sad, as I was my lightest in years. I hate being fat and have put on 5 stone in 1 year. Anyone else starting Exante or anyone any tips ?

Jonesy17 · 01/09/2018 18:20

How are people getting on with the Exante plan? If I lived alone I would smash it but I’m really struggling to stay on track with a partner who doesn’t support dieting at all!! And having to cook for children 😩 I can manage a couple of days but then will eat something and feel really bad!
I wouldn’t class myself as overweight but clothes are getting a little tight and would love to lose a stone! Does anyone have any tips besides sewing my mouth up 👄😂

I am starting Exante today, I have 84 lbs to loose. This time last year I had dropped way below the weight I should be. I had the stomach band in 18 months, loved it but then I was in agony as the band was twisted. Emergency surgery and for the first time ever, a dietician was sent to me to INCREASE my weight. Well that was not a problem. I loaded 84 lbs in one year....grrrrr. I did lipotrim twice for our 2 daughters weddings then back on the weight. I am determined to get back into my clothes. So need help, advice, buddy. D
