About my neighbours setting off fireworks at this time of night?

Everyone's windows are open because of the heat. The dc were asleep. Until the neighbours set off fireworks so loud that our house is vibrating slightly.

AIBU to quietly seethe in a very English way because the dc are now awake and I can't carry on watching Versaille on Iplayer?

Take up the clarinet.

Play it in your garden.

Squeaky fuckers.

You say your neighbours are setting off fireworks. Is this a euphemism or are they actually setting off fireworks? Either way, not something you want to hear on a hot sticky summer's night.

I'm lucky, my DC will sleep through anything if they're already asleep.

If they'd been woken up though, I might have committed murder.

Wrybread · 25/07/2018 22:59

Primula I'd have preferred it being a euphemism. The dc can sleep through that Grin

The fireworks seem to have stopped now.

If the lawn wasn't so brown and dying, I'd think about mowing the lawn early tomorrow morning

Mow the lawn anyway, or get the kids to play very loudly in the garden as soon as they get up.

Wrybread · 25/07/2018 23:10

Mike, yes I could just let the dc out for an early morning play. They'll be nicely over tired and wanting to argue with each other. Good call Smile

Ah. I can finally watch the rest of Versailles

I normally blow an airhorn at 7 am for party goers on a Sunday morning. I blame it on the forrin lorry drivers using the bypass who don’t understand a lie-in Grin. And I know I am mad as a box of frogs before anyone tells me.
