To have a little rant on here about this poxy bloody weather?!

I don't mind the warmth too much, even though I work in a non-air conditioned office, I can cope.

It's the fucking insects that are driving me to the point of despair! We have 2 wasps nests, after another one was only treated last week. So we can't open some windows without an infestation of wasps in the house.

And then there's the ants! Little black ones and bastardy flying fuckers that have taken over the utility room and we just cannot find where the fuckers are coming from. we've literally ripped everything out, except for the worktop and the base unit and STILL they get through! They seem immune to poison too. I've re-sealed the worktop and everything.

I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of coming home to an ant infested house that's 35 degrees indoors because we can't open the windows because of the wasps. Angry

The wasps nests (we can see) are being dealt with next week (yet another call out charge) but the ants just aren't giving up!

Weather forecast suggests it might rain Friday but knowing my luck it won't rain for bloody weeks.

It seems ridiculous but I just had a little cry about it all because I just want to relax when I get home, not deal with this shit.

Sorry. I know in the grand scheme of things this isn't major, but I'm really pissed off now and this summer can go and do one!

(I honestly don't swear v much in real life - even my DP gave me a Shock face at the sweary rant I just unleashed!)

I am right with you! Friday's forecast is thunderstorms and I can't wait.
Hate the heat. I am fair and freckly and burn like hell. My hair looks like dry straw now and my skin is constantly red and sweaty.
As for the insects ugh. I am sick of the flies coming in when my cat leaves just a tiny bit of food in her bowl.
My colleagues and I were bombarded by bloody wasps while chatting outside on our coffee break and mosquitoes eat me alive when I m cooling down in the garden at night.
Currently praying for the thunderstorms

PurpleMac · 25/07/2018 20:19

YANBU. Flies and ants everywhere here and it's disgusting!

recklessruby · 25/07/2018 20:21

Oh and things dying in your drink is just unacceptable. Get your own drink, flies!

Ifailed · 25/07/2018 20:23

Give over. It's far better than the dank, grey damp winter & spring we've been through. Millions of people will be handing over £1000s to travel overseas to enjoy the weather we currently have.

It'll soon be over, kids will be back at school and heating bills will start arriving.

CrazyDaisy2018 · 25/07/2018 20:40

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'd be happy to live in perpetual spring to be honest. I don't feel the cold so I don't mind winter too much but spring is definitely my favourite season.

I don't mind summer but 25 degrees is better!

I don't feel the cold either. I love spring and Autumn. I even like winter. A cold crisp sunny January day makes me feel energised and want to go out for a walk.
I don't want to do anything in this heat.

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 25/07/2018 21:01

I absolutely love heat and normally thrive in it...but I'm sick to bloody death of it now. The kids are ratty as fuck...the dog can't get comfortable and I'm not sleeping !!! Yanbu !!!

CrazyDaisy2018 · 25/07/2018 21:14

Oh, and I have old lady swollen ankles too...

Bastard weather!

And @Ifailed my electric and gas provider put my DD UP last month!

They said they needed to put it up to counteract our increased winter usage, but even at the min DD they'd allow they still predict we'll be in credit by £300 next year. Yeah, thanks for that Scottish Power!

(I'm honestly not normally this grumpy!)

My cat, however, is loving this weather and loves nothing more than sleeping in a 40 degree conservatory in the sunshine.

This weather is beyond hideous.

IJustHadToNameChange · 25/07/2018 21:26

The BBC weather app keeps forecasting rain in the mid term and then as the 'rain day' gets closer, the forecast gets revised to less and less chance of rain before giving almost no chance of rain.

I'm sick of the constant teasing.

Just give us some fucking rain, why don't ya?

Haphazardhacker · 26/07/2018 07:08

Glad it’s not just me who is sick of this weather. As a horse owner we had a tough winter last year and this winter will be tough again as there will be a hay shortage and any hay will be expensive.
If we don’t get rain soon some crops will fail and that will push prices up for everyone not just those with livestock. The people who are loving this weather simply as they want to get a tan are really missing the bigger picture, in Sweden for example animals are already being put down in large numbers simply as there is nothing to feed them.

MrsAidanTurner · 26/07/2018 07:12

Winge away this weather is great if you have pool or live near the sea but we can't do much in this heat!!

vandrew4 · 26/07/2018 07:22

YABU. makes a lovely change to have a proper summer. What really pisses me off is I'm going for a long weekend to Ribby hall this weekend when the weather is going to break and it's going to lash down all wekend

ILoveMyDressingGown · 26/07/2018 09:05

I slept on the settee last night because it was just too hot in bed.
My children are very grumpy because they're not sleeping properly.

When we had ants in the house we got the pest controller out. It was awful because there were millions of them and they were crawling out of the skirting boards and up the walls. He found where they were coming from, sprayed all over their run and around the outside of the house too. He also put some bait stations down. It was a bit annoying because we couldn't clean up for a week or two afterwards but it kept the ants away for the rest of the year and for the year after. This year so far touching wood they've been outside but not inside.
