To want my own set of Hama beads?

I want my own set of Hama beads, just for me, so I can do it properly! Nice patterns, colours other than pink.... DD is 4 and just wants to make everything ‘a rainbow’ which is nice but sets my teeth on edge haha!

Oh god yes. I requested them for Christmas last year and love them. And I'm 52. Get some.

You can buy teeny ones to do proper grown up designs.

Bellyscreen · 24/07/2018 17:51

Oo teeny ones? I struggle with the midi size that we’ve got haha, but that sounds amazing....

They are very fiddly and time consuming. And basically impossible to fix if you go wrong.

Love Hama beads.

DickensianHysteric · 24/07/2018 18:38

Um, I don't even have my own kids and I've got Hama beads after having a bit too much fun playing with my niece's ones. Get on Pinterest for inspiration and then get ironing!

Bellyscreen · 25/07/2018 12:21

Dickensian - which ones have you got? A set?

Not a set exactly, no. I went to Flying Tiger and bought a bag of mixed coloured ones and a bag of stripy ones. I do have a set of boards - a small circle, heart and star but I can't remember if I got them from Flying Tiger or Hobbycraft.

Going by the laundry threads on here most of mn is proud to not own an ironGrin

DickensianHysteric · 25/07/2018 22:30

Banana - the only time I ever use my iron is to melt the beads! Grin

IWantMyHatBack · 25/07/2018 22:33

@Bellyscreen - have you investigated the many pinterest boards? 😁

mikeyssister · 25/07/2018 23:13

@DickensianHysteric could it have been Ikea?

CleanHankie · 25/07/2018 23:26

If you want to do proper designs you need the square boards that slot together to make a bigger board. My local toy shop thankfully sells them so I'm a happy bunny! I've got them stored in a set of lock &store mini boxes. My children are so not happy but tough, these are all mine!
Loads of ideas/patterns on Pinterest. They can also be called perler beads and cross stitch designs can be done with Hama beads too. I prefer the more useful designs, such as Easter/Christmas cards Bd keyrings
