Ideas for little gifts for DD turning 14?

AjasLipstick · 24/07/2018 09:07

She had her proper present a few weeks ago...a laptop. But she turns 14 this weekend and I want to get her some nice things to open. Low cost though.

Any ideas please?

Makeup is tricky as her tastes are expensive and I leave that to MIL who likes buying her dear things Hmm Good on her! Grin

Just looking for things I might not have thought of!

Stationary, school bag, fairy lights, cds?, sweets, anything she collects?, funky socks, purse, books etc etc

My daughter turned 14 last week! So this is the kind of thing I got for her.

Hm yes! Stationary and sweets...she loves sweets! Maybe a nice lamp!

Fourteen coins taped into a card (depends on your budget whether you go for 20ps or £2 coins).

A Venus flytrap. Really cheap from the garden centre and very cool for a teenage bedroom.

A mobile phone “charm” if she has a phone

Nail varnish

Toe ring/ankle bracelet

Hair accessories

Socks

A Book

A diary

Gel pens

Perfume/lip balm/hand cream/body lotion

Skin glitter (or whatever it’s called)

A top secret list of songs that were your favourite at 14 for her to look up (2018 mixed tape - so easy!!)

A 'bag of bits ' - nice shower gels, candles, body sprays, sweets, lip gloss, stationery, wrap them all separately and put them in a nice gift bag easily do that for £20 -£25

My dd loves getting new blankets for her bed. The softer the better.
Fluffy socks.
Pyjamas.

Ooh - little things are fun to buy! At that age I loved:

  • sparkly earrings and hair clips from Claire’s
  • “nail art” transfers
  • New Look strappy vest tops in different colours (incredibly these are still only about £3)
  • Pink champagne truffles (because I thought they were very grown up and sophisticated!)

Cinema tickets,

Tickets to bowling alley,

McDonald's/burger king gift card (where she can treat herself to something if she is out with friends)

Amazon gift voucher,

Actually Amazon do nice gift basket hampers (I think they don't actually come in baskets) and you can get bundles of UK sweets, American sweets...I tried one of the Japanese sweet hampers and it was so good and unusual because the stuff in it was so different to what is sold here...I think you can get the cheapest for maybe £10 (I can't remember)

My dd likes a bag of bits.

She was 14 2 weeks ago. Expensive make up taste too.

She got some nice notepads, a fluffy pen, a nail varnish, some gel pens, revision cards, a little planner, some little clothes pegs and bulldog clips in little jars, a unicorn cup, and some other bits and pieces.

Wilcos was cheap as chips for stationary and they had nice stuff.

My 14 year old DS buys his friends ( who are girls!) vouchers usually.

Superdrug
Primark
Coffee shop
Restaurant- Morrison's have a great one which cover the ones teens seem to like- Nando's, Ask, Pizza express

They all love sweets too, especially the American import ones - Jolly Ranchers etc
