Wedding guest dress

Not so much an aibu , have just purchased this dress to wear to friend wedding (day guest) and my sister saw it and said theres no way I can wear it, you shouldn't wear black...
A solid black dress fair enough but surely as its floral it ok??

Wear it, it looks lovely.

Etiquette dictates you should seek permission from the bride if you’d like to wear a black dress to a wedding - and of course no white unless you’re the bride.

I think someone may be jealous of your beautiful dress! It’s smart and romantic so I would say perfect for a wedding.

I haven't read the whole thread - I'd suggest a colourful chunky necklace to 'lift' the bodice area.

I love the dress and think it's absolutely fine to wear for a wedding! Ignore your sister and have a great time.

I think it's fine for a wedding & I have worn solid black to a wedding & no-one batted an eyelid! I think any colour is fine as long as you aren't in danger of being mistaken for the bride or a bridesmaid!

I wore a solid black maxi dress to my nephew's wedding as it was late afternoon into evening. Other people also wore black, no-one cared. I wore a pink pashmina to go with it. Not a problem
