Wedding guest dress

Not so much an aibu , have just purchased this dress to wear to friend wedding (day guest) and my sister saw it and said theres no way I can wear it, you shouldn't wear black...
A solid black dress fair enough but surely as its floral it ok??

I can’t see a picture, but I wouldn’t wear black to a wedding unless the coloured pattern over the top was really big

I think it looks really weddingy (if that's a word) probably because of the flowers. I'd accessorise with baby pink and/or white to be on the safe side, but that's just me.

It’s a lovely dress - to make it more wedding I would go for really colourful accessories. Maybe the bright pink colour?

The dress is really nice and OK for a wedding I think - enough floral to offset the black.

I'm confused by the picture though - do you have coathangers that look like necks??!

It’s beautiful, if you were going dressed like Queen Victoria in full mourning gear then maybe I’d see your sisters point, it’s absolutely fine to wear to a wedding.

It's gorgeous, i love it! It's very weddingy. You could wear a coloured pashmina and shoes and a bag in the same colour x
