I had a coil fitted two days ago and since I’ve had the worst cramps that feel like labour but constantly, I can’t stand up straight. I told my partner it’d be like this and he’d have to help with the kids more.
Today I was lying down having really really bad cramps and he text from downstairs saying his friend has split up with his girlfriend and he’s going to get his stuff with him .
I was a bit like but I’m ill?? I can’t really look after the children properly.
He flew off the handle telling me I’m making it about me and that I’m being self centered.
I don’t think im being unreasonable to ask him to stay after warning him that I’d be feeling bit great for a few days. But also why ask if when I say no does he call me names and go anyway!

He also said he’d be 45 minutes to an hour , that was at 2.30. He’s now had to go and get one of the children from their Grannies house so he’s not going to be back for at least another hour if not more. Leaving me to do tea, bath and bed alone

Sorry not much help, but don’t do baths, they can have one tomorrow. Something easy for dinner such as a sandwich and let them stay up up until he gets home, it’s the weekend, they can sleep in. Sorry you feel bad xx

needtimealone · 21/07/2018 17:58

I have no idea of the pain you're in but if he agreed to stay and help then he is unreasonable

Rebecca36 · 21/07/2018 18:04

Men! I despair of their lack of empathy with their womenfolk sometimes. He could have told his friend, "Not today but I'll help you tomorrow".

I hope your pain is gone soon, it must be dreadful. I've never had a coil but I've heard similar stories from a couple of people who have had one inserted. If the pain continues, go back to your doctor pronto.

UnlawfulBananaPeeler · 21/07/2018 18:12

Apprently his friend wanted it all done today so he doesn’t have to see her again 🙄

It’s my first time so I don’t even know what’s normal and how bad the pain should be but I’m at the ‘id rather push out another baby then have this pain continue’ 😒

half considering a kick in the balls and to ask if he fancies making tea now

That level of pain doesn't sound right for a coil insertion. I know everyone's different but I didn't have any pain at all. Probably worth a call to 111 to get checked out. Do you have anyone else who can come round for a bit?

Forget about useless DP for now. Get well soon and deal with him when you're feeling stronger. He sounds like an arse.

Singlenotsingle · 21/07/2018 18:44

Let him deal with DC when he gets home. If he moans, say you did warn him! Selfish bastard.

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 21/07/2018 19:01

Don't know anything about coils but I'd deffo go with the kick in the balls.
Your partner sounds a twat tbh, sorry about that.

UnlawfulBananaPeeler · 21/07/2018 19:16

I ended up making tea but I’m leaving the ransacked front room and bed to him .
Even though he seems annoyed with me !!
I’m going for a shower and some co codamol in the hope I can walk like a normal person after
and then I can lift my leg high enough to attempt a ball kick
