To want to know I'm not the only one? (Boobs)

Obviously I don't think I'm the only one on Earth but I've never met another woman, knowingly, who has breasts as small as mine. I'm 34aa and have always been worried about it. I constantly wonder if I ought to get surgery. Is there anyone on MN that is in the same boat?

thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.com/p/fitting-advice.html?m=1 how to measure.

An old way of measuring adds 4/5 inches to the back size which means the back size is too big and the cup too small. When measuring you don't add inches so what you measure under the bust is your back size.

Petalflowers · 20/07/2018 22:30

I’m small also. When I was breastfeeding, I wore ordernary bras, as I couldn’t find any maternity bras small enough.

CorianderSnell · 20/07/2018 22:31

You’re not the only one!

I can feel every single rib through my so-called boobs. Like you, I wear bras mainly to disguise my nipples - which after having bf three children each for over a year are pretty wonky and weird looking. There is more or less no breast tissue. If I stretch my arms up or lie down you can’t see a bump.

I loved having the big boobs (32DD ish) that came with breastfeeding. But I’ve got used to having small ones. Bra shopping is cheap, exercise is easy, I like to sleep on my front.

I have read a heap of bra intervention threads and tried a huge amount of different sizes - my conclusion is the boob or bust method is not valid for skinny ribs and small breasts, and something closer to old school measuring works better (the bras that fit me best are padded 32Bs and 32Cs).

I have consciously tried to put on weight recently (I lost a few kilos for some reason after last baby; am now back up to just over pre-baby weight - around BMI of 21) and this has seemed to have made a small difference but not much.

Fatbellymomma · 20/07/2018 22:33

You haven't mentioned your age? I was similar in my 20s but two kids later and I'm now a 28F.

My38274thNameChange · 20/07/2018 22:37

I was like this after having children. Was only a B before pregnancy but an AA after. It sucked.

Went to see a cosmetic surgeon who confirmed I had almost no breast tissue.

I had surgery ten years ago and still think daily it was the best thing I ever did!! Now officially measure a 28F and I look a normal size.

knickerbockergloryy · 20/07/2018 22:39

I'm tiny too OP GrinGrin itty bitty titty committee and I love it! Had taken a while for me to feel comfortable with all the media and social media and images of perfect women that we find our selves comparing too. But you know what we are all different shapes and sizes, that's normal! I stopped comparing myself to other people and it really did help me to love myself more :) I'm sure you look great!

Mari50 · 20/07/2018 22:43

I was a 34aa until I had my dd, I also had a very slim figure amd while I would have liked bigger breasts occasionally to fit into certain clothes generally I really liked my figure and naked I felt really confident, I probably looked similar to the likes of Kate moss. I definitely wasn’t a 30d cup as mentioned previously.
When I was breastfeeding I was a 34b and hated having bigger breasts.
I’m now a 34a, doesn’t bother me a bit. I’d rather be smaller than bigger. The clothes that I prefer to wear suit a smaller bust as well so I’m totally happy with that part of my body.

JynxaSmoochum · 20/07/2018 22:48

Traditionally I'm a 32B. I have tried the MN method and recently got some 30Cs which do enhance the bust better. Hypothetically I'm a 28D, but that's near non-existant, particularly in a reasonable price range.

Pre-DCs I wore 34As then 34Bs. I went up 5 cup sizes in pregnancy/ breastfeeding and back again.

With the recent heat I've been going bra-less. Too hot for my usual layer of padding!

I can find necklines saggy due to a smaller than average bust and short decolletage, what I do have sits quite high. The other irritating bit is that although my waist is objectively fairly small, it isn't balanced by my bust which means that my trashed post-baby abdomen can't hide a meal and the wobbly post-bump/ CS overhang feels disproportionately big. It seems incredible that I'm around the size that was apparently average around 20 or so years ago.

At least I managed bra-less for the race I forgot my sports bra for Grin (I do normally take sports bras seriously as I don't want them to resemble a pair of socks in future decades Wink)

MereDintofPandiculation · 20/07/2018 22:50

mere did you not have a nip situation? Nope. Inverted nipples. And quite pale areolas, so not liable to give offence to anyone. Breastfeeding was a challenge.

Pippa12 · 20/07/2018 22:50

No you can carry on as normal. I was sensitive for around 9 months but now totally fine.

I am a 30E from a 30A (one cup fit but the other gaped as i has total volume loss on one breast after children but I'd always been asymmetrical) Im a size 8 with curvy hips- i feel in proportion now and very happy.

Rebecca36 · 20/07/2018 22:51

The more you have, the more you have to lose!
So be glad of your small boobs, they'll still be standing up and perky when you're 65.

LMDC · 20/07/2018 22:56

Measure using the Boob or Bust calculator and try the size it says! If you have fb join the fb group too for some advice. There is no way you're a 34 band if you're a size 10.

If you're super unhappy and have the money for surgery, and truly believe it would make you feel happy then do it.

Don't get surgery to give in to pressure of having big boobs. Small boobs are attractive too, and I envy all the pretty bralettes and tops smaller chested women get to wear!

bridgetosomewhere · 20/07/2018 23:02

Mine are tiny too and I wear slightly padded crop tops as bras are so uncomfortable
Don’t wear anything when it’s hot or abroad just dresses or vests
Matalan and Asda have nice crop tops

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 20/07/2018 23:10

I think flat boobs look really cool and edgy, all catwalk models have the look, I think these models look amazing.

JintyandtheJs · 20/07/2018 23:15

Me too! I have a broad back and am 34 AA to 36AA There's a catalogue and I think now online shop called Little Women - check it out

Ummmmgogo · 20/07/2018 23:18

I think those models look amazing too but I would say they have small breasts but are definitely not flat chested.

itssquidstella · 20/07/2018 23:22

I have tiny boobs. I think my actual measurement is 30C but that makes my boobs sound much more plentiful than they are! I'm tall and broad-shouldered so they really do look very small.

I've embraced it recently and now tend to wear bralets rather than proper bras, and go braless under some tops and dresses. I know DP prefers it when I wear a padded bra and fake a cleavage, but I like my non-boobs! I like to pretend I am waif like and gamine wafting around with no bra on!

seventhgonickname · 20/07/2018 23:23

As a friend of mine said about his wife'
She may not have big boobs but she has fabulous nipples'.

Allthewaves · 20/07/2018 23:24

Friend who is slim and little beat tissue wear silicone pasties (not sure of spelling) instead of bra. She wear glam satin vest tops etc, always looks stylish.

blinkineckmum · 20/07/2018 23:25

I was a D cup before kids, E when breastfeeding. A afterwards! I honestly don't care. I like people looking at my face more than my chest and it's easier when exercising...

tor8181 · 20/07/2018 23:26

as some one who is on the complete opposite end of the scale big boobs are a problem

im a 40J/K,biggest ive been was 44N and that was when pregnant and i didnt breastfeed

i own 1 bra as they are so expensive(only worn when i go out im in nightwear at home)

had my very first bra at 10 was a 34d,but looking back i was filling out crop tops around 8ish,by 12 was a 38dd stayed that way till 17/18 then went slowly up and up and from my early 20s(im 37 now)ive been a G+

im not thin by any means i wear a 20/22 on the bottom but need a 24/26 top and they have to be long tbh i wear xxl or xxxl mens tshirts as they fit better

tmi i know but without bra my nipples are parallel with my belly button

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 20/07/2018 23:27

Ok Kate is almost flat chested here, super cool, super edgy and super sexy. I think it’s really fashionable at the moment to have small or flat boobs.

AlphaBravo · 20/07/2018 23:45

I'm a size 18 with 38A/Bs. We're pretty much in the same boat. Dont care a jot. Tiny boobs are best boobs Grin

momentomori · 20/07/2018 23:49

I'm completely flat chested. I've never worn a bra and I don't even know what size I am but I can't wear anything that is cut for a boob.

But I love being flat chested and would never consider surgery.

ALongHardWinter · 21/07/2018 00:35

Wanna swap? I HATE my big 'uns.
