OK so I am honestly a little bit freaked out. My 5yo just came to me and said something was moving in the glass with her sea creatures. It's not something, it's several hundred somethings
They seem to sit on the bottom or top of the water unless the glass is moved then they swim. What the heck are they. And what on earth should I do with them?!?

Have thrown them out. The sea creatures are looking a bit forlorn and lonely. Oh and they are a cheap toy that starts off about 1cm big and grows to 6x that once they've been in water for 3 days.
(If dd gets any more they will be put in a pot with a lid on to avoid future trauma to sensitive mumsnetters )

I'd stick the sea creature in with your next boil wash, just incase your daughter starts another mosquito colony...

Mosquito lavas they bread on water if its just left with no air flow, we had the same on a pond my husband made before he realised it needed a filter to keep them off. The tempretures at moment are the worst for them to breed. I'd defo get them out of your child's room, wash the sea monster with some detergent and get rid of water and lavae
