OK so I am honestly a little bit freaked out. My 5yo just came to me and said something was moving in the glass with her sea creatures. It's not something, it's several hundred somethings Shock
They seem to sit on the bottom or top of the water unless the glass is moved then they swim. What the heck are they. And what on earth should I do with them?!?

Trigger warning? They are no more than little black lines, do we need trigger warnings for exclamation marks too? HmmConfused

gamerchick · 20/07/2018 18:44

this is horrible, apologies Op, I have reported your thread so they add a trigger warning!

Really? Confused what will you do if this happens to you IRL? Will you go to the press?

At least you asked on here OP. I rang round looking for a pond to put my tadpoles in a stupid frog had laid in my container Grin

TheBrilloPad · 20/07/2018 18:47

Oooooh our paddling pool got gross the other day when I left the water in it for 4-5 days, and there were loadssss of these. Gross.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 20/07/2018 18:47

The very word "trigger" makes me want to puke, tbh. Finding something unpleasant is not triggering, ffs!

Kkmuppet · 20/07/2018 18:48

I'm not sure I can do the bleach thing - I'm feeling squeamish about killing them all.... leaving it up to nature and chucking them out might be the best option

Mosquito babies! Throw the water on the garden and they'll die

greathat · 20/07/2018 18:51

Don't bleach them! Just water the grass with them!

viques · 20/07/2018 18:53

If I recall they hang upside down like that to breathe, somehow using the surface tension of the water. You could do a bit of science and add some washing up liquid to the water, this will destroy the surface tension of the water, they won't be able to breathe and will die the death mosquitoes deserve. Sorry, did I say a bit of science I meant a bit of revenge.

Rudi44 · 20/07/2018 18:54

Massive over reaction by Paradise Laundry. You can’t bloody see anything.

Flush them

GlomOfNit · 20/07/2018 18:57

Just goes to show how tropical it is at the moment - mozzies laying their eggs in any available open water!

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 20/07/2018 18:58

Fuckadoodledoo. I will be having nightmares about this tonight.

Maliali · 20/07/2018 19:01

Having watched both series of Stranger Things, I think these are demogorgon embryos.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 20/07/2018 19:05

Keep your cat in a cage, op!

NeedAUsernameGenerator · 20/07/2018 19:08

I've always wondered what these are! I've had them in the paddling pool and other standing water before.

JustLikeBefore · 20/07/2018 19:08

A fucking trigger warning?Shock

AnyForm · 20/07/2018 19:12

The trigger warning was a joke surely?

Kkmuppet · 20/07/2018 19:12

Yuck Brillo just a small glass of these is making my skin itch - a whole paddling pool full might mean I need a trigger warning!

FatBarry · 20/07/2018 19:12

Wow, that's amazing. I saw these in our bird bath and wondered how on earth water creatures could get in there. And now I know!

wheezing · 20/07/2018 19:13

What exactly about a picture of mosquito larvae is triggering???

GetToFuck · 20/07/2018 19:15

What if they turn into mosquitos though OP? You need to kill/flush them.

3luckystars · 20/07/2018 19:20

Fuckadoodledoo is right!!

What was in the glass?

Oakmaiden · 20/07/2018 19:24

The trigger warning was a joke surely?

Apparently not, since the PP has come back to reinforce how very disturbing she finds the concept of insects laying larva in water...

ISayOopsUpsideYourHead · 20/07/2018 19:25

Mosquito larvae. Kill the fuckers!

ThePrioryGhost · 20/07/2018 19:28

How can you feel bad about killing mosquitoes? You’re too nice OP. I’d use bleach and acid and fire on those bastards!!

Fireandflames666 · 20/07/2018 19:39

MOSQUITOES!!!!. Get rid of them asap, yuk.
