To ask how much you spend on your child's extra curriculars and tutoring?

Private school being extremely expensive, realistically it's not something my partner and I will be able to afford.

I think a nice state school that suits the individual child, even if it's not a high flying school, plus a budget for extra tutoring (for exam times) and for a good range of hobbies is maybe a good solution instead.

Does anyone do this? Approximately how much do you spend on your child's extra curricular activities?

Yes, almost everyone, as fewer than 10% of children attend private schools. It's hardly an innovative 'solution' (although what you're trying to solve isn't clear), as most people probably pay for extra curricular stuff ranging from a few pounds for an after-school art club to thousands on a trip to study Balinese dance. Tutoring less common although it seems to be a thing in some places more than others. So, in short, the amount depends and can vary and fluctuate enormously.
