Help! I have one dd. My mil has lived with us since we have been married.

She is a very strong woman and overruled me on everything. She sends me to bed if I sneeze.

When dd was 2 dh pissed off capturing butterflies in Africa and I havnt heard off him for years. Bastard. So mil got friendly with a wierd lady next door. She has big hair coils round her ears, writes books and has lots of kids.

I am concerned she is also involved in modern slavery as she has a woman living with her called Anna who does everything.

Anyway mil and this wierd Jo woman have colluded to send dd to a boarding school.

Aibu to just want to move away with dd. Start again and have some fun? Grin

Guess the book and keep going. Grin

Also, my parents have gone out for the night leaving me with the dog and my two little brothers, WIBU to fly off with this exciting boy I just met and his fairy?

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 15:16

Left my husband for someone else, his family are okay. But may lose custody of DS, what do I do?

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 15:16

Peter Pan OR Peter Pan and Wendy?

Tanith · 18/07/2018 15:17

A bit more of a clue:

I actually have 4 really close friends. We met at school in Switzerland and promised to be there for each other through think and thin - or “sick and sin” Smile
One of us became pregnant and had a baby. We don’t know the ins and outs of it all, but we’re supporting her all the way.
Just hope the little girl will grow up understanding that we were desperately trying to save one us from disaster and not just rich bitches who couldn’t get an abortion...

DrowsyDragon · 18/07/2018 15:17

Yep!

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 15:17

'Lace'?

MissLingoss · 18/07/2018 15:18

When my son left the army, he set up as a private investigator, which means he spends his time running around our city hanging out with lowlifes and getting into trouble. And as for his girlfriends - rope dancers and such like. Then on a trip abroad he met a girl from a really high class family. She seems like a nice girl, respectful to her elders, but she's way out of his league, and there are complications with her ex.

NancyDonahue · 18/07/2018 15:20

I get so angry, I just can't help it. Especially when people are cruel to animals. It's not my fault, it's theirs! Anyway, who wouldn't love to be able to fly and be as free as a bird? And living in a nest must be fun!

Clue: Supernatural digit

Tanith · 18/07/2018 15:20

Lace it is Smile

Poor Kate and her MIL, Major Harrington’s widow!

DrowsyDragon · 18/07/2018 15:22

Either works Dottie

DrowsyDragon · 18/07/2018 15:24

Miss lingoss is that the cormoran strike books?

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 15:24

Nancy Roald Dahl 'The Magic Finger'?

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 15:25

Tanith had forgotten 'Lace' stole from my mum and read in secret!

MissLingoss · 18/07/2018 15:25

Miss lingoss is that the cormoran strike books?

No, something more historical.

DrowsyDragon · 18/07/2018 15:27

Damn! Stumped then. Smile

NancyDonahue · 18/07/2018 15:27

Yes dottie Smile

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 18/07/2018 15:28

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/07/2018 15:29

I have four children of school age and a toddler. The elder four are fairly sensible on the whole. Well, at least the eldest two are. On second thoughts, let's say I can always rely on DD1, who is 11 going on 50. DS1 is 13 and I think will turn out very like DH, which is a great thing on balance, but DH takes a robust approach to many issues and can be a bit more gung ho than I'm comfortable with at times, but that's the Navy for you. DD2 always has her head in the clouds and DS2 is only 7 and can be very silly!

Anyway, AIBU to think we shouldn't let them sail off to an island and camp there on their own for weeks on end? DH says better drowned than duffers, but I'm not so sure.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 18/07/2018 15:30

I'm an enthusiastic young lady who loves her job but isn't ready to be a mum. When we got pregnant, my in laws bought us a house next to them.

She does my head in, tying to make out I'm crazy to take my baby.

One end one of us will kill the other!!

DrowsyDragon · 18/07/2018 15:30

Swallows and amazons

Tanith · 18/07/2018 15:31

Me, too, Dottie BlushGrin

Loved the book, though. Lace2 was a terrible letdown after that.

Always felt bad for Kate. Written out of the film, then out of the sequel and yet she seemed the most believable of all of them.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/07/2018 15:31

Yes, Drowsy, one of my absolute favourites.

GallicosCats · 18/07/2018 15:32

AIBU to tell our entire town that we urgently need to evacuate?

I know it seems a bit drastic, and I can't give you much hard evidence. But I've been noticing creepy weird things around the edge of the downs lately - notice boards that we can't read, nasty odd smells, enemies loitering, that kind of thing - and I had a horrible vision of the entire city covered in blood, but no one believes me apart from my DB, who tried to explain it all to the Mayor but got politely sent on his way.

I'm not mad, am I?

Dottierichardson · 18/07/2018 15:35

Gallicos yours is so familiar, is already driving me to distraction.

BevBrook · 18/07/2018 15:40

I don't know what Gallicos is, but I want to read it!
