To ask for your ghost stories/ if you've ever seen a ghost/ something supernatural?

Sorry this has totally spiralled off the post about an OP's husband reckoning he's seen a ghost in the woods. I thought I'd make an entirely new post about this because I'm now bloody well in the mood to hear people's ghost/supernatural stories and ask: do you believe in ghosts?

Many years ago as a teenager was walking in broad daylight with a friend along a canal path. The path was a straight path in front and behind us with nowhere to join the path for half a mile. Was only the two of us on this path - wall to the left canal to the right.

Was playing with a loose ring when suddenly stopped off my finger. My friend and I looked down on the floor and immediately I picked the ring up. When we stood up there was a man immediately in front of me. My friend and I both jumped! I said "sorry" to the man and stepped to one side. He just stared at us. We both said to each other and said " where the bloody hell did he come from?". We looked behind us a second later.he was nowhere to be seen! The canal path was straight for a quarter of a mile and there was no where he could have left the path.....
