What time do you think it’s ok to sit in your garden laughing and chatting until on a Monday night?

A family a couple of houses from me are currently sitting out laughing and chatting. There’s about 4 adults out there. They are talking quite loudly. I’m in my loft conversion bedroom and can hear a lot. No alcohol involved they just generally seem to talk loudly.

So what time is it acceptable for them to stay out there until?

There isn't a right or wrong answer. But for me it would do my head in if I could hear them now, but someone else will come along to say IABU!

It is doing my head in! I just looked and there are more like 5 or 6 of them sitting round a table either eating or playing a game. Zero attempt to keep the noise down.

Midweek I would say you can start to get annoyed after 11pm but not get really wound up until closer to midnight.

Midnight?? I will be murderous if it continues that late.

Sorry OP. I have neighbours that are always outside smoking so I know it can be annoying. People are still out and about in pubs at this time which is why it feels like you can't really worry too much until it's a while past 11. They probably don't realise how annoying they are but you can't say anything just now. It's too early.

Whatfreshhellisthis18 · 16/07/2018 22:44

But they aren’t in a pub it’s a usually quiet residential area. They are now intermittently shouting and howling with laughter. I can hear this with windows on that side closed. 😫

I dunno....midnight?

At 6:30 this evening some random children were being really loud on their squeaky trampoline. I was trying to work and it was really annoying. It was my problem: they were being totally reasonable. Much like your neighbours.

Do they do it a lot?
