I didn’t know anything about her until yesterday, but I really like her!

Does the link work? Anyway, if you watch the World Cup, I’m sure you saw her. And if you didn’t, she traveled in economy class, was really enthusiastic at every game and just had a really positive attitude when she was talking about the Croatian team, saying it didn’t matter whether they won or lost, since they had done a terrific job in getting where they were.

Yes she is. So is the president of Estonia.

They are both worthy role models.

SadieContrary · 16/07/2018 15:14

Yes! I was thinking this when watching the final. She showed genuine pleasure for the French squad and treated each one of the Croatian boys like a son/nephew.
Didn't flinch when the heavens opened either. I like her!

MadisonAvenue · 16/07/2018 15:16

Wasn't she wonderful! Not sure what kind of politician she is but as a person she came across so well.

hellokittymania · 16/07/2018 15:16

Running, I’m going to have to look up the president of Estonia now as well.

I watched her yesterday when she congratulated the players and thought she came across as a very warm, genuine woman.
Even when it rained and she got soaking wet she stayed to talk and hug all the players and officials. Very down to earth.

TrumpsACunt · 16/07/2018 15:18

I also thought this. Croatia should be proud of their president and team.

jellyandsoup · 16/07/2018 15:19

I thought she looked like a lovely lady too, can't imagine Mrs May behaving like that. No one got her an umbrella either

MaMaMaMySharona · 16/07/2018 16:28

I loved her!! She was so genuinely happy to congratulate everyone - even the refs!

I have to say it left a bad taste in my mouth that Putin got an umbrella a remarkably long time before anyone else - awkkkssss

RebeccaWithTheGoodHair · 16/07/2018 16:32

She was fab - loved her and she came across as a totally nice and genuine person.

The umbrella thing was excellent, do you think even Putin felt a bit uneasy as everyone else got soaked through. Can't believe it took so long to find a few more umbrellas - perhaps he carries his around all the time to be on the safe side. Perhaps it has a poisoned tip and that's why he didn't want to share with anyone.

Nacknick · 16/07/2018 17:00

I loved how she was wearing a football shirt as well

Tartsamazeballs · 16/07/2018 17:57

Omg she's like a real life Leslie Knope 😂 wonderful!

FermatsTheorem · 16/07/2018 18:01

I thought she was brill too.

alphajuliet123 · 16/07/2018 18:13

She and Macron were both fantastic, can't imagine Theresa would have been quite so enthusiastic. Unimpressed by Putin standing under a huge brolly with no thought for the other presidents (who, to be fair, didn't seem to give a shit) getting soaked to the skin.

I think we (UK) need some fresher, younger, new politicians. Someone needs to step in and start a new party or something!

ItchyBitchFace · 16/07/2018 18:14

Agreed she is very Knope-like

Agustarella · 16/07/2018 18:26

Yes she came across very well, so glam and unstuffy that I thought she must be some continental actress I hadn't heard of (doh).

And Macron's make up didn't run despite the rain, must be why he uses the expensive stuff!!

MadgeMidgerson · 16/07/2018 18:28

She’s quite right wing and didn’t have much to say about the singing of nazi era fascist songs by the Croatian fans

hey ho

MadisonAvenue · 16/07/2018 18:30

Leslie Knope!! Yes!

IfyouseeRitaMoreno · 16/07/2018 18:45

Oh she IS Lesley Knope!!!
