Another Tory sex scandal

After all the cautionary tales.

Another man caught sexting.

BBC link This time, it's the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Small Business, MP for Burton and the former Chief of Staff to Theresa May, Andrew Griffiths.

What goes through their minds?

High position, married with children, great responsibilities and he screws up like this?

AIBU, or should MPs have all correspondence, texts, emails and phone calls monitored?

Yes I don't feel sorry for the women he was texting, it was all consensual.

His poor wife though. Imagine finding that out. And so publicly. What an absolute piece of shit.

Why is he getting such a hard time here? Of course his betrayal to his wife is awful. But at the end of the day as pp said he sent some supposedly sexy /dom type messages re physical beating in sexual nature, to 2 barmaids who he paid, they responded. All consensual.
None of these messages are my cup of tea, all a bit slimey and pathetic, but hardly criminal.
Then they went to the papers! Quelle surprise! His biggest crime seems to have been that he is a naieve twat,who has been caught!

Why are people talking about monitoring communications? Presumably here the women has simply kept records of and shared the messages he sent to her.

Really hope his wife LTB. Staying with a cheating sleazebag like this would he grim.

Oh he's an MP. Crime against women! He's supposed to be championing women's rights/getting more women at board level etc.....
Err hardly. The 2 women concerned haven't exactly done women's rights much good!!

I don't think his political affiliation has anything to do with it, it's just another sex scandal involving a pathetic male who believes his position of power makes him untouchable. That bit is definitely right, wouldn't touch him with a 10' barge pole. Wonder how his baby daughter will feel if she stumbles across the internet stories about her father someday when older? Utter entitled tosser!

He’s a minister, in addition to being an MP. His behaviour hasn’t been in keeping with published standards for people in public life. He should resign from both jobs.

Just another Tory sex scandal, nothing to see here... He votes against same sex marriage and yet demands girl on girl videos whilst violating the sanctity of his own marriage. His poor wife. Some of the texts are laughable, others deeply disturbing. I saw a comment about the 2000 texts over three weeks, approx one every ten minutes during a working day!? I suspect there is more to come on this story, as the search for women he claims he has beaten during sex begins...

Would monitoring communications stop this? Probably not, those who are as sleezy as Mr Griffiths would just find another channel to peddle thier violent filth

What goes through these people's heads? Firstly, its grossly disrespectful to his beautiful wife and secondly, you know you're gonna get caught or busted to the newspapers!!!

What an idiot with all the "i run the country" and "£200 to get something nice" bullshit". If i were the young ladies, i'd be requiring a lot more than £200 to feel treated, more like £12,000 to make it worth it for themselves.

The guy's a scumbag. They exist in all political parties so not sure why the fact he's Tory was a highlight of the title. The women don't come out of this smelling of roses either, obviously they encouraged and even welcomed his attention. Skanks all round.
His poor wife and family though.

The casual prejudice to the women is jaw dropping.so what if employed as a barmaid. Would there be more ire and sympathy if the woman were barristers? They were not employed in public office with a remit to promote inclusion. He was. In work time he was sending inappropriate tasks.

His sex life is none of our business. It's ridiculous in this day and age someone can lose their job over having legal, consensual sex.
Some of my texts to my dp are pure filth but no one is going to print them in a national newspaper thank god.
The only one who should judge him is his wife.

It v much is our,my business. He’s employed in public office to promote female inclusion in business
He’s salaried government employee,employed in public sector. And in work time when meant to be working he’s sexting women
Not fully engaged in his job because he’s sending salacious texts
That is v much my business

Those employed in public office, public sector are held to high standard of behaviour. He’s failed abysmally and neglected his role

Why is it, when these people get found out, they are going to seek treatment or get professional help. I know a sure fire way of it never happening again.........It involves a miniature guillotine made especially male genitals, and a lobotomy.
