To think I can fit in a dress in 6 weeks?!

So I impulsively bought a designer dress at half price as it was too much of a bargain and it's so well made and designed. I want to wear it to my friends wedding in 6 weeks but it's a size too small as that's all that was left Confused

I've been dieting and so far lost 4lbs in 2 weeks. I would probably need to lose another 8/9lb to fit in the dress, can it be done?! Or aibu?! I lose weight so slowly so I'd really have to stick to it with no Saturdays off like I usually do!

Low carbing? You will loose a lot of water in the first few weeks.

I am low carving and also combining 5:2 - fingers crossed it can be done!!

Carbing not carving Blush

yes I think it is doable, unless you are slim so 8 lbs would be a big percentage of your weight.

I lose very slowly but have found that keto and low carbing really helped me. I managed to lose 10 lbs in 6 weeks. But you have to keep in ketosis and not cheat too often.

I'm about a stone and a half overweight - I'm still having fruit etc but no starchy carbs like bread/pasta/potatoes etc

I tried full keto and I gained weight Hmm

I've got some beautiful dresses in my wardrobe that are a size small but were in the sale. I crash diet into them occasionally (once a year?).
I eat yoghurt and fruit for breakfast.
Have lettuce leaves, chicken breast and tomatoes for lunch or I totally skip it.
Chicken breast/salmon and roast, non carb veg for supper.
No snacks.
I do it for a week and can get into the dress. Then I order a dominos pizza the next day and eat a whole large stuffed crust with lots of dip to celebrate.

It's an incredibly unhealthy thing to do but I've only done it a handful of times.
Good luck! Sorry for being a bad influence

If you are familiar with Slimming World and follow their SP plan you could easily lose this. The first week I did it, I lost 8 pounds. Not going to SW for the last couple of years, so I'm not pushing their ideas - but it did work for me.

Basically; no potatoes, pasta, rice, bananas, yoghurts, (carbs) and meals are generally meat (fat removed) and veg for dinner - and lots of fruit to snack on.

It's easy enough to make some switches ie: butternut squash on top of your shepard's pie instead of potatoes, homemade soups for lunch (veg and stock cube blended) - porridge or weetabix for breakfast.

It means you have to plan for the week ahead and get everything in, but it's doable.

I have 4 weeks to fit into a size 12 bridesmaid dress and I'm currently a 14 (more 15ish) - really hoping if I put my head down I can do it - I've done it before :)

Good luck! :)

Skip the fruit and aim for no more than 1,200 calories a day. Drink lots of water, no alcohol, and absolutely no diet soda or other diet drinks. Take 20 minutes a day and do some light weight exercises at home. I think you can do it!

newyorklover1 · 13/07/2018 19:55

I'm loving these ideas for motivation!!!Grin

Applesauce I like the influence even if it's bad! I'm a 14 and need to get to a 12. Only issue is my bust is more of a 16 so I need to drop some weight from there and I can't specifically target that area Sad

I'm downing loads of water and sticking to 1170 calories a day and 500 cal on fast days. No starchy carbs on any days but maybe I do need to ditch the fruit as I am snacking on strawberries and cherries quite a bit.

I will try the weight lifting each day and try and force myself to go for a run at least once a week! As it gets nearer I'll push myself harder!

newyorklover1 · 14/07/2018 09:57
