Would just like to clarify that my house is immaculate Grin

My car? Gross. Smashed biscuits from DD in the back. Covered in dust from the building site next door. Haven't cleaned it for a good 6-8 months. Don't use it much and it's just utterly GRIM!!

I'm actually embarrassed and considering giving it a small clean before taking it to the valet so it's not quite so bad...

AIB silly?

Just take it and buy the car men a box of doughnuts as a thank you.

LyndseyKola · 13/07/2018 09:12

Pick the worst of it up! Don’t take it with actual trash in it. But dirty is fine, that’s why you are taking it to be cleaned!

Teachtolive · 13/07/2018 09:13

All I can say is at least your house is immaculate! My house and my car on the other hand...

checkingforballoons · 13/07/2018 09:13

Ha! That’s me! Home is immaculate, car is barely driven and disgusting (although currently without one). Maybe just take out any rubbish and then take it in for a clean?

Oldraver · 13/07/2018 09:15

This reminds me of my next door neighbour...he had someone round to valet two cars left them to it, but came back outside to find the valet had abandoned the job.Grin

DoubleDeo · 13/07/2018 09:18

Oh @Oldraver I don't think it's quite that bad! It doesn't have any rubbish in it it's just dirty. Tidy, but very, very dirty...

my house is messy, my car is messy and resembles the inside of the stable where my daughter works and brings half of it home every night. I even have horse feed loose and rattling around in the boot. Might even be a horse hiding in there too!

Shitonthebloodything · 13/07/2018 09:22

Collect any rubbish, remove car seats, empty boot and give them a decent tip in advance. They won't mind.
I always find the ones at Tesco do a great job not sure if they're all the same company but I've been to a few in different areas and they've always been good and not minded the state it was in.

BlueBug45 · 13/07/2018 09:23

As a PP said buy a big box of donuts or give them a decent tip. (I think they prefer the latter.)

DoubleDeo · 13/07/2018 10:08

DP is do blasé. Maybe I should send him. He has no shame whatsoever and thinks I shouldn't care!

Honestly, don't worry. Sweep up as much crap as you can, remove any rubbish and apologise in advance.

crumpet · 13/07/2018 10:26

Yes, take out the rubbish so that it is just dirty, not covered in litter, and give a good tip.

Teenagemaw · 13/07/2018 18:25

The man who does my valeting loves a dirty car.. he takes before and after pics.

ZiggyTheCat · 13/07/2018 18:29

Tell them you just bought it like this and roll your eyes at the cheek of some people Grin
