Just had my first experience of Aldi Special Buys release morning!

I normally pop in later in the day, but thought I'd go straight from school run as today's the day the uniform and fake Smiggle backpacks came out. (My older girl is wise enough to want a real one, but 5yo will love this one!)

Wowee!!! Vultures in there at the uniform!

Hope the pinafores are good as I've bought plenty!

I tried to order the pinafores online this morning but the grey is already sold out!

Yes I also tried online, hence why I went as it's grey for us too. Manage t get 2 5-6 and 2 7-8 so hope we like them.

My favourite are M&S but they're 4x the price and I was talking to mums as we were digging and they said they are good. So fingers crossed!

Don't worry there will be plenty of places to get cheap uniform stuff between now and September. Pep and Co are good as is Asda.

I've never seen so many people waiting at Aldi at 8am!

Unfortunately for us, our polo shirts and jumpers are logo'd but I was able to get trousers, socks, pe shorts, pe tshirt, shoes and jogging bottoms.

Aldi uniform does last fairly well. I have a destroyer of clothes who's only just started to have a growth spurt. We bought 5 pairs of Aldi grey trousers in 2016 on their special buy, he's only just grown out of them height wise but they're all still in reasonably good condition. So much so, I'm sending them to the charity shop for someone else to use.

They've lasted bloody well. The trousers have loads of life in them, they could do another year imo if kids didn't grow.

Any tips from others before I order the rest of my son's uniform?

Bit miffed the shoes started at a size 10... My boy is a 9 and the shoes from Asda are double the price!

The school shorts seem to be indestructible also. The ones I got still look like new.
