Can't concentrate at work. Nervous about the result tonight. So much pressure... kinda just want to see tonight out! Is anyone with me?

Sandsnake · 11/07/2018 13:13

Oh yes. Gareth Southgate was the first person to make me cry over football in 1996. I have a feeling he will do again tonight (whichever way the result goes...). Come on England!

GrumpyOldMare · 11/07/2018 13:19

Why are you nervous about the result? Pressure?

Monkeybunkey · 11/07/2018 13:20

I'm the same. Productivity is low today where I am!

SparklingGuava · 11/07/2018 13:20

@Sandsnake enjoy! Praying it doesn't go to penalties. Don't think I'll cope!

I'm nervous too, my stomach has been churning all day!

Sparklingbrook · 11/07/2018 13:20

I won't be watching due to work but would quite like them to win so people can be happy a bit longer.

SparklingGuava · 11/07/2018 13:21

@GrumpyOldMare not a football fan? England are nearly in the final! The 'nearly' bit makes me nervous.

OP posts:
kyrenialady · 11/07/2018 13:21

I am nervous about the aftermath really, how much damage will be caused tonight?

GrumpyOldMare · 11/07/2018 13:22

Oh.
No,not a football fan,how did you guess? Lololol

ManicUnicorn · 11/07/2018 13:25

My earliest ever memory of a sporting event was when England made the semi final in 1990. When Gazza cried. It was 28 years ago. How can it be that long ago?!

SparklingGuava · 11/07/2018 13:31

@kyrenialady to be honest, it'll happen either way. We can only do our bit as individuals and behave like respectable adults. I'm not going to let other people ruin it for the majority of us who are sensible.

It's awful the way some people have behaved though it really is. Absolutely shocking.

No,not a chance! Too hot plus I don't drink/go to pubs - especially if footballs on....too noisy. I have plans which include my settee,a cold drink and a good book!

Tink2007 · 11/07/2018 13:36

So blood nervous. I just want it to be tomorrow so we know.

SparklingGuava · 11/07/2018 13:36

@GrumpyOldMare enjoy!

YANBU but please relax nothing you can do (aside from flying to Russia and interfering with the teams) can affect the match just get distracted and good luck! Ps good job next match is at the weekend!

SparklingGuava · 11/07/2018 13:37

@Tink2007 I can't believe I'm about to say this but it's almost tempting to just not watch it and google it afterwards. I'm actually scared about the temporary depression the nation will fall in to if we lose!

Purplehammer · 11/07/2018 13:43

I feel really nervous too...I really don't want the excitement of it all to end just yet!

Also had a phone call from the local Iceland saying there's a problem with their van and can they deliver later tonight? (I have a feeling what he really meant is "we're watching it in the back office so can we please bring your shopping later on?" GrinGrin) ...it did make me laugh haha

Come on England!

I'm nervous too! Work is going so slow! To top it all my DD will still be awake and will probably try and turn the TV off

SparklingGuava · 11/07/2018 14:31

Random stranger walked up to me in the street and said "it's coming home". Brilliant!

If we win, brilliant. If we don't, we can hold our heads high for what has been an amazing tournament.
