What do you all reckon? Would be interested to hear your thoughts.

I would hope not, people might just be stupid enough to vote in Corbyn.

Thesearmsofmine · 11/07/2018 00:14

I don’t know but I do know there is nobody I want to vote for.

PTW1234 · 11/07/2018 00:18

No I think not, but I reckon boris might be PM before the year is out.

The second female priminister isn’t really packing the punch she needs and will always get compared to Thatcher, who would have already done the Brexit deal by now.

I think the stars are aligning in the Conservative party, would like to to happen in labour too to be honest.

French2019 · 11/07/2018 00:19

I think it's very possible but I really hope it doesn't happen, even though I hate the current government.

I don't think any of the opposition parties can salvage much from Brexit now anyway, and seeing as it was the Tories who got us into this awful mess, I want them to see it through and bear full responsibility.

Bourdic · 11/07/2018 00:20

No I don’t think there will be - when push comes to shove, the majority of Tory MPs will always put what’s best for them individually first and so an election doesn’t serve that end

Onlyjoinedforthisthread · 11/07/2018 00:22

No, it requires 2/3 of parliament to vote fire one and Tory mps won't vote themselves out of a job or a vote of no confidence and the dup won't vote to give up their power

Baumederose · 11/07/2018 00:22

Not necessarily this year but a high chance in the next 12 months I would say

By the end of 2019

Somerville · 11/07/2018 00:24

I don't see what the possible upside is of a new election for Tories or DUP, and as long as they hang together then it can't really happen.
Labour are chomping at the bit for another go at it though. So never say never.

Given that I disagree with every party's stance on protecting the rights of women, and both the major one's Brexit position, I have no idea who I'd vote for. Confused

seventhgonickname · 11/07/2018 00:26

No,I think the Tory's will stick it out until after Brexit,I don't think anyone in their right mind would take over atm.
Much as I don't like them there is no really credible option so whatever versionof Brexit we get ,the Tories will get in again and say that it is a vote if confidence in whatever shambles they have cobbled together.
I don't know what to vote, for the Cons because they have squandered 2 years of negotiating time fighting amongst themselves.Labour who we hardly hear anything about outside News night.Libs, even quieter.
I'm buying my Euros tomorrow in case the exchange rate gets worse.

Fruitbat1980 · 11/07/2018 00:39

Hope so, my cousin is running. I don’t support their party but support them so I’ll be joining the campaign Grin

NotSureThisIsWhatIWant · 11/07/2018 00:46

If Boris is appointed PM, I don’t want a general election, I want a revolution against the excesses of the ruling party.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 11/07/2018 01:13

Cant see why we would have a GE. So Yabu.

Penners99 · 11/07/2018 03:36

No election but Boris will be PM by Christmas

GinIsIn · 11/07/2018 03:43

God I hope not - there’s no viable candidate.

FranticallyPeaceful · 11/07/2018 03:49

Bloody hope so, but probably not

londonrach · 11/07/2018 06:41

Hope not, theres no one to vote for

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 11/07/2018 06:49

No

The Tories won’t risk losing power though unfortunately I think Boris will be PM soon

I hope it all backfired on him

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 11/07/2018 06:53

I like Boris!

nancy75 · 11/07/2018 06:57

Boris or that vile Reese Mogg creature. The idea of Boris as PM is not good, but JRM is horrific

NanaNoodleman · 11/07/2018 06:59

No. Trusting to the tories usual pragmatism to prevent them jumping off that cliff.

Amanduh · 11/07/2018 06:59

No.
I think JRM may be next though.

NameChangedAgain18 · 11/07/2018 07:08

I don’t think there is that much support for Boris amongst Tory MPs, so I doubt that he’ll be PM.

Poloshot · 11/07/2018 07:15

Some amount of snowflakes on here. No I don't think they'll be a GE but Boris or JRM will be in number 10 Imo

meditrina · 11/07/2018 07:20

No, I don't think there will be a GE. Labour really don't want one until after Brexit. And May is taking one for the team, and I think that will have been a totally deliberate decision.

Boris, like Corbyn, wants to be clear of any part in the process, and they both want to come in 'clean' afterwards.

ClarkWGriswold · 11/07/2018 07:21

I highly doubt that there will be a GE; the Conservatives wouldn't be stupid enough to push one. That being said I have a strong feeling that Rees Mogg will be the next PM Shock
