My partner has a son who’s 5, I am pregnant with our first DC together.
My stepson has a cousin on his mother’s side called Imogen. So we would never have contact with her, neither would my parents (my dc’s grandparents) or my partners parents (other grandparents), but obviously my stepson would.
Imogen has always been my favourite name, it’s a family name, and always what I said I’d call my first girl - DP loves it too.
Problem is that my stepson would have a cousin called Imogen and a sister called Imogen. He’s really the only one who would have contact with both of them, and there wouldn’t be a time they were together.
AIBU to still be considering this name for my DC? My mum thinks it would be unfair on my step son, and this is hard enough for him as it is, I don’t want to make it any worse!
