AIBU to detest the amount of swearing on posts ? IMO it adds nothing and makes me think posters are uneducated to do this.

Probably a troll or a young kid getting ideas for fucking awesome cunty words

Ohyesiam · 09/07/2018 17:15

I’ve got two pissing degrees.

You might find friends on netmums

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 09/07/2018 17:15

God you’re totally fucking right. It’s shit how much some posters swear isn’t it? Absofuckinglutely unreasonable.

Flightywoman · 09/07/2018 17:17

The most extreme swear words are some of our most ancient words. Cunt wasn't even originally obscene, it was just another word.

They're all just other words.

Personally I'd rather an Anglo Saxon than some prissy puritanical nonsense.

You know where you are with a cunt...

ilovesooty · 09/07/2018 17:20

Not again. Other forums are available if this one isn't to your taste.

As a vegetarian, I don't complain about all the meat in the butcher's. I take myself to the grocer's. Bland and brainless fora are, I believe, readily available, but I like this one. Wankbadgers, thundertwats and all.

donquixotedelamancha · 09/07/2018 17:41

I think studies have suggested that sweary folk are actually more likely to be intelligent.

I must be a shitcuntarsetwatbastardfucking genius.

FoxAndBear · 09/07/2018 17:44

I never assume swearing comes from someone being uneducated at all.
I'm drawn to the more swearier posters if anything.

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 09/07/2018 17:45

To suggest that because someone swears they are uneducated is wholely inaccurate (one could say complete bollocks) and in fact the opposite has been proven to be true.

I'm very highly educated and not adverse to dropping the odd fuckettywanko'cuntbadger in a post.

Storm4star · 09/07/2018 17:49

I was actually thinking about this the other day. Yes you can say they are only words and it's about the intent behind them but wouldn't the same be true of other unacceptable words like nigger or mong? I mean if they're all just words whats the harm? As long as you're not using it to insult anyone? So I don't think that argument holds water.

I don't have an issue with swearing in context and I actually quite like some of the more creative words I see on here! But calling people a cunt just seems unnecessary to me, and I certainly wouldn't like it if someone called me that in real life. I was in a supermarket not long ago and heard one woman say to another "that fucking cunt just got in my fucking way, fucking bastard" something like that, over nothing, he was just in her way where she wanted to get to a shelf. I think that's extreme and I wouldn't speak that way, nor would I be happy if my DCs spoke that way.

DilianaDilemma · 09/07/2018 17:49

I'm one educated fucking cunt and my arse is firmly sat on the boss bitch chair to boot.

What the fuck is wrong with a little cursing? I've earned this. None of my three theses contained any fucking obscenity as far as I remember (uptight bastards in fucking academia).

Musicalmistress · 09/07/2018 18:13

Do fuck off dear 😉

BastardGoDarkly · 09/07/2018 18:55

Lyn while you're here love.... why do you keep coming onto the sweary thread, just to sneer... how unpleasant... or some such shite.

It's called the sweary thread. Clue's in the fucking title Hmm

pointythings · 09/07/2018 19:01

Swearing has its place. Face to face with people in real life is not is. MN definitely is. Please remove your judgeypants, let go of the pearls and dive in.

Twatbadger is one of my favourite words.
