Ah Dear God, its started about Prince Louis Christening. Its in the chapel at St James palace. a chapel with a lot of royal history, obviously, its where Queen Victoria married, also George V married mary Teck there, Time magazine has writen a things you need to know about the chapel, and whats the headline Louis to be christened in historic Royal chapel, No!
Its also where Catherine was Confirmed and Prince George was christened, so maybe about the chapel being significant to Louis mother, or indeed just pointing out that its the same chapel that his older brother was christened in? No its "Prince Louis christening venue has a poignant tie to Diana" because its where her nody was lay before her funeral.

Am i unreasonable in thinking that its the chapel his brother was christened in has more of a baring on chosimg whichb of the royal chapels louis was christened in tjan it happens to be where his Grand mother lay.

I'm sure Wiliam and Harry think about her every day and miss her dearly, don't get me wrong. I'm sure in his way Charles misses her and has kept her in their sons lives. But not everything they do needs to be some sort of tribute and made out to be delibrately chose cos of tje percieved conection to her surely?

where in I know we had a tread about Catherine and Meghan's dresses echoing Diana's and beimg a tribute to her, when actally unless some one invents new colours and applies them to fabric then their likely to wear the same colour clothes purely coincidently.

Can I just ask, out of curiosity, why you are so invested in lives of people you only know from the TV and glossy magazines?
What makes you think you really understand about their family dynamics and themselves?

I agree. I am tired of the media trying to make comparisons with Diana. She was their Mum, and that is obviously a part of their lives. But not everything they do for the rest of their lives will relate to her. Anymore than it would had she still been alive.

As for comparing the outfits Meghan and Kate wear with Diana's is just the most tentative journalism! It's ridiculous!

I don't and indeed thats the very point. We dont know why the chapel was chosen, in fact the reason it was chosen peopably boils down to logistics or personal preference justvlike every bloody other christening royal or not.

My neice was resently christened at the church my family attended, it happened to be the church where my parternal grandparents were are buried. its the same church as my brother our cousins and i were christened at, only one two of these things entered my brother and his wifes where their daughter would be christened , one by default, was it the church nearest where he lives which is near our childhood home as a result it was the church my brother was christened at. The same is likely to be the case for william and catherine, like everyone else family..

However what doesnt happen for every other family is bloody headlines like "josephine* to be christened at a church with a poignant tie to her great grand parents"

My sister in law, wear whatever damn clothes she like without it being a poignant tribute to a woman she never met.

With the royals the press make out that everything the two boys do, everything their wives and children do is some poignant tribute to Diana. Its massively unlikely to be the case. People believe this stuff and go oh how lovely. Because the oress tells us it is.

Except that’s not the headline in the main news is it? The headline is “queen and. Prince Philip not attending Christening.”

MurielsBottom · 09/07/2018 12:16

I get you OP! I find it very annoying. It's like everything they do is Diana's sole doing. She's been dead twenty years but she is completely idolised as the perfect parent, perfect mother and now a perfect grandmother.

LaurieMarlow · 09/07/2018 12:17

The only reason why they do it is that this shit sells. People like to be reminded of Diana. George V/May of Teck aren't on their radar.

I'm amused that my auto correct wanted to change Teck to Tesco. Classy.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 09/07/2018 12:19

Oh are you taking objection to where i said that im sure all three princes miss her? Well because in two of their cases She was their MOTHER, IN charles case she was the mother of his children. Its perfectly mormal to miss your mother, it would be massively weird if they ďidn't. As for charles, he might not of loved her but he loves his children and his children love her, hes had to watch the pain tjey went through any father would rather their childrens mother was a live, than having to watvh them grieve

Diana still sells papers. There is a ridiculous amount of people still emotionally invested in Diana, Charles , Camilla, the Boys, their imagined relationships, all of which is projection. If Diana was still alive, she would be 57 years old, nipped, tucked, up lifted, botoxed to with in an inch, still chasing round the Med looking for Mr Right, but she remains eternally 36 …… which is now younger than her eldest son and both DILs

Its one headline, i havent mentioned it being the main headline, summer its a headline in a very very major publication, posiably the biggest magazine in anerica.
