To wish for peace and quiet at times!

Sitting at a lovely quiet spot overlooking the sea, pretty much alone. Along come 2 women yap yap yap can't take themselves further down nope they sit on the bench next to me spoiling the peace and quiet.

On safari and we're in the jeep, 2 cars to a sighting we're told to keep seated and quiet..car behind us yap yap yap why can't you just watch the animals and shut up. They were so loud we left.

In hotels, others going to their rooms late at night making a racket in the corridor then slamming their doors, unaware or don't care that the doors they pass have others in them probably trying to sleep.

Why do people have to be so bloody noisy, it's so hard to find a little bit of peace anywhere these days.

People love to yack on - presumably because they've been issued with a hole in their face that makes a sound and they're going to get their damned money's worth out of it.
I'm with you OP. I wish everyone would just stop bloody yapping on about fuck all for just five minutes Grin

Tell me about it. They also seem to need loud music and radio all the time as well.

QueenOfIce · 09/07/2018 11:03

Yes to the music also, I remember once being at the zoo (will never go to another after seeing them in the wild) and heading into an enclosure it specifically stated on large poster to be quiet as the animals are sound sensitive. Nope in come a family squealing and talking loudly.

How do people who are very sound sensitive cope?

Go to a restaurant and you can no longer enjoy dinner and a quiet conversation because you have to shout over the crappy music they play.

I need my own planet!

I used to get a book out in the expectation that people would see I was reading and leave me alone but no such luck - I even had one knobhead tell me that he loved it when he sees someone reading as he can ask about the book and it's a great conversation starter! When i pointed out that the other person might just want to read he looked honestly baffled.
I had the house to myself on Saturday afternoon it was bliss for about 10 minutes then the neighbours had their watch the match barbeque with (what sounded like) their closest few hundred friends.
