To think McDonalds is weird

For putting cheese in an egg McMuffin!

Late getting up this morning so went through a drive through for breakfast. Apparently normal menu doesn’t open till later so opted for an egg McMuffin and it has cheese in it. I still ate it but it’s weird. Why would you put cheese in it? Confused Grin

I don't think cheese has a place as a breakfast food - I always order my McDonald's breakfast without it. Personal choice I guess!

I didn't know they did egg and cheese! I thought you only got sausage or bacon. You mean veggies can have a Micky Ds breakfast too? How did I not know this? Dd1 has been moaning she is deprived unnecessarily Shock

I love a cheese and egg combo, but have never tried the egg and cheese mcmuffin. Is it real cheese or the floppy cheese food slice thing? if the latter I can imagine why it was a bit off: the texture must have been slimy.
That said, the one with a sausage patty and egg in is lovely. (can't remember if it has floppy cheese but that would be offset by the grainy meat).

Oooh no, I put cheese in a HM one too - the quorn sausage patties are incredible! (no grease, cook from frozen and ready by the time you've poached the egg whereas I find the 'proper' meat ones too greasy/fatty.)

OliviaStabler The Egg and Cheese McMuffin actually came first in 1972. The Sausage and Egg McMuffin came much later in 1984.

So it’s not new; it hasn’t recently been added. It came first nearly 40 years ago!

Wow, then I am incredibly unobservant Blush I only ever noticed the bacon and egg or the sausage and egg ones.
