For putting cheese in an egg McMuffin!

Late getting up this morning so went through a drive through for breakfast. Apparently normal menu doesn’t open till later so opted for an egg McMuffin and it has cheese in it. I still ate it but it’s weird. Why would you put cheese in it? Confused Grin

BECAUSE IT IS DELICIOUS

NutElla5x · 09/07/2018 13:04

I caught my son putting grated mature cheddar on his fried egg sandwich and was like ewwww, then I tried it and have never looked back.... food of the Gods!

JJS888 · 09/07/2018 13:09

OP You dont have to make up an excuse to eat McDonald's. It's not illegal!

SnapFart · 09/07/2018 14:20

You never had a cheese omlette?

YABVU :)

Hidillyho · 09/07/2018 14:56

How about quiche, OP? Do you have any strong feelings you would like to get off your chest about quiche?

Quiche is an eggy pie. No strong feelings of it though

Putting cheese in a McMuffin is as weird as taking gherkin out of a Big Mac

Tebay services is a considerable distance from the Lakes.*

A bit of an exaggeration, and somewhat unnecessary I think. It's on the edge of the lake district.

Egg and cheese is a glorious combination.

Years back, one of the supermarkets did a prepacked sandwich that was basically cheddar cheese and sliced hard boiled egg. I replicated that regularly as a student, as I could get very cheap free range eggs locally.

Now I want an egg and cheese sandwich :(

Vitalogy · 09/07/2018 16:09

I hate that I like it, the cheese is made of cack. I don't have it very often but ask for it meat free.

Mooey89 · 09/07/2018 16:10

I agree, cheese and egg should never ever mix.

mrjoepike · 09/07/2018 16:16

love cheese and egg dont do mcds. only time i ever did was in 1969 for little brother, and when they used real ice cream thier eggnog milkshake great base for brandy or whiskey.
now a proper breakfast burrito scrambled, fried potatos, ground sausage or bacon and loads of cheddar with a nice green chile picante or salsa.
thats food of the gods

where do you live that you can order online?

OP All McDonalds will be rolling out delivery at some point in the near future. At the moment, it’s only stores in major cities that deliver.

You can request it without cheese. It means they make it to order so its nice and warm too.

Elliebobbins I said earlier, but just so you know, all food is made to order on the new EOTF system (and all stores are currently being refurbed into that system).

I've tried the breakfast wrap but the potato thing you get in there is like a tiny imitation hash brown, so it all feels a bit small

BarbaraofSevillle The only difference between a hash brown and a rosti is that the rostis aren’t as wide; they are longer than a hash brown though so very similar size.

If you get a wrap meal, they don't give you a separate hash brown either, like you get with a sausage bagel.

That’s because you have the hash brown already in the wrap, just a slightly different shape.

Maybe they put cheese in it so customers didn't feel shortchanged that they were paying the same price for as a Bacon/Sausage egg McMuffin?

Shumpalumpa You’re not being shortchanged, because the Egg McMuffin is considerably cheaper than the Bacon/Sausage and Egg ones.

(And it comes with cheese because the majority of customers like it like that.)

Cismyass · 09/07/2018 16:57

Cheese and egg is a partnership made in heaven; quiche, omlette and egg mcmuffin prove this.

DwangelaForever · 09/07/2018 17:00

Bacon and egg McMuffin 😍😍😍 the cheese is deffo the best bit!!!!

Hidillyho · 09/07/2018 17:29

In Qatar they deliver. My local one take a 10 minutes and you can watch the progress on the app. They even tell you the name of the guy preparing your order. Like "Ahmed is making your order, Joel is on his way to your house" type thing Shock

luckycat007 · 09/07/2018 20:27

Oh no. When I worked there the only thing for me on the breakfast shift was the mighty egg mc muffin.

They do make you fart though Blush

zukiecat · 09/07/2018 21:03

Cheese and egg sounds absolutely disgusting!

I don't really liked cooked/melted cheese anyway, I sometimes have pizza but only if there isn't too much cheese on it

Not a lover of cheese at all!

clumsyduck · 09/07/2018 21:37

Genuine question is cheese not a staple part of an omelette ? Without the cheese isn't it just , well, egg ?!

zukiecat · 09/07/2018 21:40

clumsy

I wouldn't eat an omelette if it had cheese in it

Just plain for me please (and for DD1 who hates cheese in any form)

clumsyduck · 09/07/2018 21:45

Interesting ! Seriously though . I thought cheese was 50 percent what made it an omelette !! You learn something everyday!

sirlee66 · 09/07/2018 21:50

YABVVVVU! Cheese can improve any meal.

JobbyBum · 09/07/2018 21:52

How can cheese and egg be Envy what about omelettes?

zukiecat · 09/07/2018 21:59

It is EnvyJobbybum because we don't all like cheese

Cheese does not improve any meal, puts me right off when cheese is involved

Lisabel · 09/07/2018 22:00

Hidillyho- I get it! I'm not keen on the egg+cheese combo! I don't notice it too much in an egg-bacon McMuffin but would hate it with just egg and cheese. I find eggs and cheese together a bit sickly.

Hidillyho · 09/07/2018 22:03

Genuine question is cheese not a staple part of an omelette ? Without the cheese isn't it just , well, egg ?!

No, omelette isn’t just egg as you add other stuff just not cheese.
Cheese improves a lot of meals - just not any meals with egg
