To ask how much you are paying if you're going abroad?

Sorry I know it's a bit of a 'how longs a piece of string' question.

Just I've been looking at holidays abroad for the 4 of us, there are a few very cheap deals but then prices go right up into the £1000s, I'm trying to gauge what's normal for people.

Turkey in October half term, 5* All Inclusive 2 Adults 3 Kids £1800

KatharinaRosalie · 08/07/2018 17:38

You're asking how long is a piece of string.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 08/07/2018 17:39

My colleague is currently in Greece for a week in a 3* AI resort with her DH and two older teenagers. She paid about £1500 if that helps.

Summer half term Turkey All Inclusive 4.5* Hotel 2 adults 1 child £1587

Jaimx86 · 08/07/2018 17:40

Two of us staying on B&B basis in Greece for two weeks: flights £450, hotel £1850. The hotel is doing our transfers from the airport so there won’t be a charge for that. We go in two weeks.

BareBelliedSneetch · 08/07/2018 17:41

14 nights in France for £2k in August.

XiCi · 08/07/2018 17:41

2.5k Greece all inclusive, 10 days in August. Me, DH and DD

Mrswoollysheep · 08/07/2018 17:41

It is and it isn't, we have to go in school holidays, and I don't feel I can find anything nice for less than 2.5k.

My expectation of nice is 4*+, modern, close to a beach and amenities, daytime flights.

Going to Majorca staying 4 star all inclusive for ten days this weekend. 2 adults and 1 child cost- £2200

Booked through jet2 child free places

WipsGlitter · 08/07/2018 17:47

A lot of this depends on where you live. Flights from NI are less frequent / fewer airlines and therefore

CherryPavlova · 08/07/2018 17:48

Daughter going to Orlando in February for 2.6k each including tickets and a meal plan. Nice adult resort hotel.

We’re driving down to our boat near Strasbourg, so only accommodation on the first and last night and mainly self catering for breakfast and lunches. It’s £500 ish for Eurotunnel. Then 2 hotel nights are another £550 for DBB. Meals out about £200. Fuel for car about £120. Fuel for boat about £200 plus moorings another £300 or so. Vet for return treatment another £50. Food shop including wine about £200. So realistically about £2/2.5k for two of us.

We did Mexico for two weeks in January 5* AI two adults about 6k we had our wedding costs on top of that and got a discount because we booked as a fairly large group, we took an extra £1500 spends but came back with about £500. September two adults (and just a bump at the moment) we've booked a lovely apartment with a pool through air BnB including flights, and car hire (no transfers needed) it's about £1000 and taking another £1000 spends. We can still go out of school holidays so I think that helps a lot.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 08/07/2018 17:52

If you’re looking for this year you’ll struggle to get a really good deal somewhere nice, there’s the odd one but it’s better to book early than late for school holidays.
If you go on Jet2 they do still have a handful of free child places left and you can filter from the child place finder.

FASH84 · 08/07/2018 17:52

JennyOnAPlate · 08/07/2018 17:54

A week AI in Tenerife for 2 adults and 2 dc for £3k in August. School holiday time is so expensive but we don't have the option to go in term time like so many people do.
