Aibu to moan to you about my neighbours

My next door neighbours are entertaining in their garden. They are playing hideous music I hate and it's so loud I've had to shut windows when temperature inside is 28 degrees.

This is in addition to the fact that she woke me last night shouting (talking very loud) in garden and this morning their workmen had the radio blaring out for hours.

Would I be unreasonable to shout "Alexa, shut the fuck up"?

oh, moan away! There are lots of really thoughtless people around. I had neighbours keeping me awake last weekend and the weekend before....

The usual mumsnet response is - just get some earplugs, etc.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 07/07/2018 22:16

It’s 10pm on a Saturday night... I think YABU tbh..

Blueredhead · 07/07/2018 22:17

Yanbu. I disliked it when I wasn't a parent. I hate it now it effects my children too. Some selfish people about.

Alibobbob · 07/07/2018 22:18

Payback tomorrow?

starryeyed19 · 07/07/2018 22:19

I have had a group of three women outside my window shouting "Get your tits out!" amongst other things and next door but one neighbour out till late screeching and laughing. It's great that they're having a good time but FFS. Keep it down! YANBU

Mamabear14 · 07/07/2018 22:22

The people over the back from us are having an incredibly loud party with only dance music noise, with the odd shouts of 'down it!' It's normally fairly quiet here and bloody hell they are loud. I want to go take them a decent CD.

TyrionsNextWife · 07/07/2018 22:23

I’m a big believer in live and let live, until it starts infringing on other people’s lives. Everyone should be able to enjoy their homes, whether that’s making the most of the weather in their garden or going to sleep at a decent hour - when someone puts their desire to play loud music and keep others awake it’s selfish and inconsiderate.

YayImALlamaAgain · 07/07/2018 22:26

YABU! We have an 11 month old. It’s hot and uncomfortable. But it’s a Saturday night in the middle of summer and I think people should be able to enjoy that.

And for reference our neighbours are partying away and I am getting ready for bed.

SmellyNelly2018 · 07/07/2018 22:30

Payback in the morning hoover, lawn moor, radio or tv on as loud as poss etc

Mumteedum · 07/07/2018 22:32

Oh bugger... They've started singing Sad

Mumteedum · 07/07/2018 22:36

See they are actually (usually) nice neighbours so I wouldn't do any sort of payback. Almost makes it worse as I don't feel I can ask them to turn it down.

So I am having moan therapy here instead.

I know it's not that late but I want to sleep but I'll have to wait until they stop.

If you cant retalliate tonight I suggest very early morning hoovering/lawnmowering and children playing loudly in the garden.... barney up full blast or the wiggles would be good(Grin)

fc301 · 07/07/2018 22:36

YANBU
Last night 3 doors down were outside 'singing' so loud late at night. I like them but was v tempted to tell them to shut the fuck up & put their kids to bed.
This afternoon 2 doors up was drunkenly ranting about fucking coons- Alf Garnet would have blushed.
Makes me want to live on a farm.

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 07/07/2018 22:39

My neighbours have been entertaining all day, unfortunately they like fucking 80's music. It's not very often though & I have been known to be on the trampoline with my mates of a Saturday evening after lots of alcohol so I'll chuck it in the fuck it bucket & pay it back at some point in the future... Probs next weekend tbh Grin

Mumteedum · 07/07/2018 22:39

Fc301 Shock do you live in the seventies?

OP posts:
Hueandcry · 07/07/2018 22:44

I could be you. If i wanted to listen to George Ezra very loudly I could. But I don't. I want to sleep with my Windows open but I can't. Selfish barstewards

fc301 · 07/07/2018 22:46

I know I was genuinely shocked /offended

elephantoverthehill · 07/07/2018 22:48

Sorry, I don't understand the suggestion of lawn mowers tomorrow morning. Who has any lawn left?

fc301 · 07/07/2018 22:49

Also I was sorely tempted to buy a megaphone earlier & lean out my top window & shout "shut that fucking dog up"!
It's the weather I think. The Brits just don't know how to all be outside at the same time.

Mumteedum · 07/07/2018 22:54

So true.

The singing has stopped thank god.

It's some unfathomable prog rock shit at the moment....oh no switched to ABBA. Improvement!

Neighbours across from us have moved onto their Wham greatest hits CD. Can hear it through the closed windows.

mumsastudent · 07/07/2018 22:59

not lawn mower vacuum cleaner for dead leaves and grass

mumsastudent · 07/07/2018 23:03

practice opera at 730 (offkey) or whistle or take radio into garden play classic fm? - our neighbours leave dogs out - Its like the twilight bark ….

Ilovelblue · 07/07/2018 23:10

My neighbour has a habit of sweeping her path like a woman possessed at 7 am when I am asleep, banging, clattering and shifting all her pots plus knocking the brush like a maniac against the fence posts. I get my own back by throwing empty bottles in the recycling bin at 11.30 at night as hard as possible.

Mumteedum · 07/07/2018 23:10

I'm just thinking of inventive things I can shout at Alexa Grin
