War on chub rub

Moominfan · 06/07/2018 19:21

Would really like to wear a dress tomorrow. I always end up with the itchiest chub rub at the end of the day. Any recommendations welcome :)

cycle shorts

lilyboleyn · 06/07/2018 19:23

Bandelettes are a life changer. Expensive - £20 on amazon, but well worth it.

Watto1 · 06/07/2018 19:24

Good old-fashioned talc.

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 06/07/2018 19:27

Sanex blue roll on deodorant

TigerJoy · 06/07/2018 19:28

Stick deodorant. Works brilliantly. Monistat anti-chafe powder gel is amazing but American so I can only find it on eBay. Bandalettes weren't great for me, my ones from last summer have given up the ghost and just roll down.

I tried a stick of Sure in desperation and it was better than all the above. Something about the creamy texture stopped anything chafing and it stayed in place all day

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 06/07/2018 19:29

Body Glide. Has changed my life.

hammeringinmyhead · 06/07/2018 19:29

Comfort shorts. No substance that I have ever applied to my legs has stopped it!

Ubicorn · 06/07/2018 19:31

Really thin low denier tights cut off at the knee or higher depending on dress length. Much arier than cycle shorts and lasts all day

MaxineQuordlepleen · 06/07/2018 19:31

Hmm. Avoid anything with nylon lace. In my experience you get static and your dress, even cotton, sticks and rides up.

fruityb · 06/07/2018 19:32

Mitchum deodorant is my lifesaver!

kitkatsky · 06/07/2018 19:33

Second the sanex recommendation!

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 06/07/2018 19:35

Shorts - peacocks have some lycra shorts made of leggings material for £6

dudsville · 06/07/2018 19:36

As pp said, cut off large pair of tights. It's the thinnest material you'll get and all that you need.

Strax · 06/07/2018 19:36

Second the stick deodorant recommendation. I am using Mitchum stick at the moment, it's fantastic. I've also used talc which works well and got some sheer shorts (jockey slipshorts) too which are very effective but a bit hot!

AliTheMinx · 06/07/2018 19:37

The Big Bloomer Company - super comfy and zero chub rub!

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 06/07/2018 19:37

YY to shorts, can I request you don't call it chub rub though? Sounds horrible & it's certainly not exclusive to the 'chub' Confused

Handsfull13 · 06/07/2018 19:37

Couldn't recommend this more.
Also cycle shorts are a god send.

Small amount of vaseline.

Oysterbabe · 06/07/2018 19:39

Body glide works a treat.

Moominfan · 06/07/2018 19:40

Thank you ladies shall invest. In meant time will make do with sanex and have some cotton cycle shorts at home ready

Shorts or nude tights are the only things I've found that help. Or just not doing very much walking Grin

threeicklepickles · 06/07/2018 19:44

Not tried it but someone recommended liquid talc, in Asda baby section

Sitranced · 06/07/2018 19:45

Liquid talc

DerelictWreck · 06/07/2018 19:45

People who cut off tights - do they not just roll up?

BlueGlasses · 06/07/2018 19:46

I was going to recommend the same product as Handsfull13. Picked mine up in Boots yesterday and no chubrub for me today yay.

I've also tried cut off tights (roll up), cycling shorts (too thick so too hot), roll on deodorant (too sticky) and nude colour light control pants (like cycling shorts but lighter and thinner from H&M which squeak due to them being nylon).
