War on chub rub

Moominfan · 06/07/2018 19:21

Would really like to wear a dress tomorrow. I always end up with the itchiest chub rub at the end of the day. Any recommendations welcome :)

I cut an old pair of cotton leggings into shorts, not clingy like cycling shorts and don't roll up like chopped tights. They don't look attractive, but do the job!

adviceonthepox · 06/07/2018 20:11

Comfort shorts have saved me from chin rub for years! I never used to wear a dress without tights and I hated the summer until I deciddd one day to cut off an old pair of leggings. I now buy the proper underwear shorts which are great :)

adviceonthepox · 06/07/2018 20:11

Chub not bloody chin 😏

Nicketynac · 06/07/2018 20:13

Where do you buy comfort shorts? I bought Lycra cycling ones from Primark and they are rolling up (right now, as I sit typing this!!)

nippey · 06/07/2018 20:16

Bodyglide, its amazing. Totally changed summer for me!

BearFoxBear · 06/07/2018 20:19

I use cut off tights too - if you use bodyshaper ones they are more fitted and tend not to roll up.

hammeringinmyhead · 06/07/2018 20:24

Mine are from TKMaxx (Marilyn Monroe brand!) and Peacocks. Matalan do them for £6 for 2.

ShakeShakeTheMuffin · 06/07/2018 20:28

I tried body glide on my upper thigh. Never again. Not exactly sure what happened but after a few hours I stank! It seemed to break down my sweat into a rancid stench. Had to go out from work to buy new underwear at lunchtime. Odd as it doesn't smell at all when it goes on.I almost went to the docs as I thought I had some sort of infection. (Happened shortly after a smear). Stopped using it and smell disappeared immediately.

lemonnmeringuepie · 06/07/2018 20:29

Talc!

Twotabbycats · 06/07/2018 20:30

Sloggi Long leg pants - cotton, thinner than cycling shorts and very comfortable! Not cheap though!

Stickerrocks · 06/07/2018 20:36

After reading various threads on here, I bought everything recommended and I've been trialling them all over the last few weeks.

  1. Sloggi big beige long leg pants - effective, relatively cool, but I resemble my Nan if a puff of wind takes my skirt.

  2. Jockey Stay Cool slip shorts - flipping amazing. Pricy, but cool and not remotely frumpy as far as these things go.

  3. Lush Silky Underwear - smells gorgeous, but at £8 per tiny bottle, it's a luxury for days when I won't be walking far to minimise rub.

  4. Bodyglide - fragrance free & effective, but it doesn't glide on quite as smoothly as I was expecting.

I'm now wearing frocks with pride, not a grimace.

Stickerrocks · 06/07/2018 20:37

All products came from Amazon except Lush, obviously.

madmomma · 06/07/2018 20:40

A generous spread of baby powder. The Johnsons bedtime one smells nice.

Morgan12 · 06/07/2018 20:55

Dry shampoo works

CaptainApollo · 06/07/2018 20:59

Shorts from the Big Bloomer Company on Amazon. They come in lots of sizes, I'm wearing them with a dress right now, wore them with a dress at the weekend and trekked around London all day - life-changing Grin

BigCarrot · 06/07/2018 21:00

Liquid talc from baby section in asda! I use it everywhere Smile

CatONineTails · 06/07/2018 21:04

Shorts, no question. Mind you I'm undignified and have to spend a fair amount of time sitting on the floor with DS so shorts serve a dual purpose Grin

Rolypolybabies · 06/07/2018 21:16

Beeswax, Shea butter and zinc oxide melted down and hardened into a bar. I'm a new woman

adviceonthepox · 06/07/2018 21:22

I got mine from tk max I've also got some from Bon prix (a catalogue)

bandthenjust · 06/07/2018 21:24

Pfft only thing that works for me is sanitary towel sized wound dressings stuck onto my thighs!
But if unlike me, you are sane, I think Lush sells something called 'chub rub' that you apply. Not tried it though.

delilahbucket · 06/07/2018 21:26

Another vote for body glide. Lasts me all day, no matter how warm I get.

loveka · 06/07/2018 21:26

Big bloomers company pants. Excellent.

RazzleDazzle3 · 06/07/2018 21:31

Another vote for Mitchum Deodrant. Life changer.Smile

GreenMeerkat · 06/07/2018 21:32

I have bandalettes.

Life saver!

CheeseGirl4 · 06/07/2018 21:36
