To tell my 2 year old I'll read to him after his telly

I put the telly on for my 2 year old so I can have some peace while I drink my coffee. He picks up his books, completely ignoring Dugee (which he normally loves) and starts asking me to read to him. I say "I'll read to you after your Duggee ok?" which seems to satisfy him... but I feel a bit guilty now.

It’s fine. Drink your coffee while it’s still hot then read to him afterwards. It’s not like you’re sitting him in front of the TV all day and never engaging with him.

And you're still feeling guilty ebought to start a thread the next day?

Unclench, it's fine.

I never understood where all this guilt comes from. Stop it - it will do you do good. You're in your own house since noone else is there to judge you. You matter too. You are allowed time to think and rest and relax as well. You don't have to talk to your child every minute and making them wait 5 minutes won't harm them.
