I'm a 40K and I'm really struggling to find a sports bra that offers any support. Any idea s please? Need high impact support because I want to start running again.

Bravissimo?

BlueBug45 · 05/07/2018 19:39

As a previous poster said go to bravissimo to try some options out, or if you don't mind trying things on at home and sending them back boobydoo have a large range.

Another vote for the panache underworld sports bra. For me it is only one that actually works high impact and no mono boob

totallyliterally · 05/07/2018 19:41

Hmm underwired

randomsabreuse · 05/07/2018 19:47

You might need to sister size up in the back which can work as a lot of sports bras come up tight. Worth looking at Panache, Bravissimo's own and trying the Royce which works for some people but was as supportive as a too big nursing bra for me even when it technically fit. I'm a bottom heavy K and can go up 2 back sizes in the Shock Absorber multi sport to get an acceptable fit in the HH cup. Panache wired has a nice low wire in its gore but was to full on top for me so I bounced inside the bra but couldn't size down without wires sitting on breast tissue.

Elomi have some decent sports bras but don't go down to my back size!

Compression tops can help borderline bras too - but obviously not ideal in this weather

I'm a 34GG (possibly a bit more as I've had another pregnancy and am breastfeeding since was last measured, and have recently taken up running).

I've got a Bravissimo sports bra which is very good for holding everything in place, but is difficult for me to fasten myself, I need to get my husband to help.

My favourite thing for running is a plain blue Bravissimo pyjama vest top. It stops the bouncing without feeling like you're strapped in, and doesn't look like pjs. It's hopeless to sleep in as it's waaay too firm a fit, but it's great for running.

I used Enell which was recommended by Oprah on her show a few years back, when she was big(ger).

I highly recommend it, there was a lot of structure and support. I now use Shock Absorber from Amazon now my boobs are about a DD - I really like them, they're very comfortable, but I don't know what size they go up to or if they offer really firm support for a very large bust.

DaphneDiligaf · 05/07/2018 20:43

Another vote for Shock Absorber High Impact D+.

Watching with interest as I have a bravissimo sports bra (not the one linked to) which is rubbish - no monoboob but lots of bouncing. I had just figured that if bravissimo couldn't sort me out then there wasn't likely to be anything out there that would fit properly.

The lady who fitted me went up 2 sizes in the back and down 3 sizes in the cup from my normal bras which are all bravissimo - no idea why sports bra sizes are different Confused

Have you tried Figleaves? I’m a 40F and have had sports bras from there - although it took ordering about 15 different bras in a combination of sizes to finally get a comfortable fit. I often feel like if you’re over a certain size it is made very difficult clothing wise to get the right stuff to exercise comfortably x

QuestionableMouse · 05/07/2018 21:22

No bravissimo near me. I'll look into the ones mentioned here, thank you.

I also use a panache ultimate underwired sports bra. Try boobydoo website

MermaidTail7 · 05/07/2018 22:26

The Freya sonic run bra is amazing too..

QuestionableMouse · 06/07/2018 20:54

I've ordered the Inspire from Bravissimo. Hope it works!

Some of the ones mentioned don't seem to go up to a K cup. If they do, I'd love links. Thank you.

K is a problem in most back sizes and brands unfortunately - which is less than helpful when you really need support!!!

monkeysox · 06/07/2018 21:42

American brand Royce do up to L cup I think

Ninoo25 · 06/07/2018 22:19

I’ve found one style in stock at Figleaves. Not the most glamorous of bras, but sports bras don’t tend to be:

www.figleaves.com/uk/royce-impact-free-g-sports-bra/RE-006140.html?dwvar_RE-006140_color=742976&cgid=sports-lingerie-bras#start=1

I found though that when they get into the bigger cup sizes it’s quite hot and miss getting a sports bra that fits you properly x
