Is it ok for cleaner to bring someone else to my house?

The woman who cleans my house has said she will be bringing someone else with her next time she comes round. I didnt quite understand who this person is - she said something about them being on study leave so I’m thinking maybe a relative from her home country?

I feel a bit weird about the idea of a complete stranger that I’ve never met being in my house when I’m not there. I trust the cleaner (she has a key). Is this an ok thing to do?

Up to you. Personally I wouldn't want a complete stranger coming into my house. You need to know a bit about this unknown person!

She should have asked you, not told you. If you're not happy with it she doesn't have your permission. But I imagine if she'd asked you might well have been more likely to be ok with it.

If I trusted her this wouldn't bother me as a one off.

Is this person expecting to be paid?

Catbell82 · 04/07/2018 19:07

No she didn’t say anything about extra payment. I’m not even sure if this person will be helping her. She just said she will be ‘bringing another lady’

Ha not the only one having cleaner issues then

user1andonly · 04/07/2018 19:09

If this other person is an adult and not actually helping her to clean, then I wouldn't be thrilled about it tbh.

I'd want to know more about why she feels the need to bring them - can't they just hang around at her house?

Catbell82 · 04/07/2018 19:11

Maybe it’s no different to having builders round? I suppose you wouldn’t meet all of the workers & they will most likely be there when you’re not? I’ve never had builders in so I’m just guessing!

Could it be her DC as its summer holidays, she was not very clear.

If you know and trust her so far, I would ask a few questions on who it is, then make a decision when you have more information.
