To feel very hurt when

a friend in an argument accuses me of being "jealous because I have a successful career and you don't,"

I am a SAHM, having left my career in direct marketing to look after my kids.

I didn't know what to say. I'm not jealous although I did love my job.

I feel hurt because a) she's supposed to be a friend and b) wtf is it when women attack each other over the choices they (have to) make regarding children and career?

Sounds like she's the insecure one to me. Bet she's jealous of your situation really.

Agree with chipbutty, I thinks SHE is jealous.

A 'friend' (no more) of mine used to tell me that I had thrown my career away by being a SAHM & didn't I want to achieve anything more than being a glorified 'caretaker' & that dd would think I was a boring housewife.....

Turns out SHE wished she could stay at home with her 2, but was unable so she took it out on me.....
