So I was just about to hop in the shower when I notice a spider on the bathroom floor. As I moved, it fucking jumped! Ok maybe I frightened it. But no, the scary bastard doesn't scurry away but fucking jumps away like it hopping along somewhere! Big fucking jumps to!

I'm petrified! AIBU to just go to work stinking!? What if I'm attacked by the jumping spider?!?

We had one of these the other day. I ended up in the hallway shaking and trying not to vomit while dp caught the fucker.

At least I didn't cry like I did last week when one asked to share my bath Angry

There’s a few jumping spiders in the UK, though the zebra is the easiest to identify. Completely harmless to us, and can be quite fun to watch when you’re not caught by surprise.

Personally, I’m a big fan of the Lucas variety Smile

Spider catcher from Amazon. Best £10 I have ever spent. You don't have to get too close and it traps them with bristles so no chance of it touching you. I'm too squeamish to squish and too scared to catch them with a glass!

They had some in Aldi last week for £8.

Ironfloor269 Shock That's more than a bit terrifying...not surprised you feel ill...

nellieellie Grin The tomato top thing! I get this too, it's the shape of them. Makes me jump a bit if I look at them quickly - brain misinterprets what they are. But please don't ever let spiders fly....
I have a fairly regular nightmare that spiders are dropping from the ceiling and it usually wakes me up. Don't think I could cope with your Cat. A dangler...!

Our house had warm air heating when we moved in (60's thing) and huge ones used to scuttle around in and out of the floor vents.
I was always finding them in my clothes and clambering leggily over the bed when we woke up.
We'd even feel them crawling over our necks when we sat on the sofa and be permanently jumpy, especially if you couldn't catch them!
One week we removed over 50 of them between us, not one of them a tiddler...
Got radiators now so the vents are covered and their numbers are down, but not low enough for me. It's just a really spidery house. I think I might have to move somewhere really cold Sad

We had one of the zebra jumping spiders in our bedroom yesterday. They're the only type of spider that I don't mind - jumping spiders are actually kinda cute!
