To wish I’d been able to have pastel coloured hair

And twenty studs in my ears, maybe a strategically placed tattoo (although I’d probably have wimped out) a hundred one night stands and then had children?

I had mine too young Grin

I can't see what's stopping you now. Go and treat yourself to a tattoo and a piercing!

DevilsDoorbell · 03/07/2018 16:21

I’m in my mid 40’s and had my 1st tattoo recently. I’m also waiting for my hair to go greyer so I can colour it purple and blue.

Age is just a number, go for it!

immortalmarble · 03/07/2018 16:23

Yes but it wouldn’t suit. It comes with a carefree attitude I suppose which I don’t have now. Ironically what I do want is a baby.

I've got tattoos and piercings from when I was younger and now I'm going to be a mum - don't think they are incompatible with a responsible lifestyle!

Neverender · 03/07/2018 17:31

When I was on mat leave I dyed my hair purple. Very liberating!

immortalmarble · 03/07/2018 17:40

I don’t think it would suit me now but I wish I had then.

I'm going to be 50 this year.

I have piercings and tattoos.

I have also, just today, dyed my hair pink, turquoise and blue (semi permanent on bleached blonde).

Have a go, it's fun Grin

Handsupbabyhandsup · 03/07/2018 21:49

I said the same. Then I dyed my hair pastel purple. It looks great!

MerlinsScarf · 03/07/2018 21:56

I get you! I love the likes of the mermaid hair trends that just weren't around in the same way a few years back. But now it would project an identity that just isn't me, so I wouldn't feel comfortable with it.

PossiblyPFB · 03/07/2018 22:01

I recently ordered some clip in mermaid colour pink hair extensions to have the flexibility of a flash of carefree hair when I fancy. They haven’t arrived yet but I can’t wait for them to - any day now!! Maybe this would help scratch the itch??

immortalmarble · 03/07/2018 22:04

Yes merlins this is the thing, it would have suited 22 year old me but not 38 year old me?

I'm 39 and have bright blue hair. It has previously been bright pink, fluorescent orange, and purple. I also have a professional job and am a mother - it is fine at any age! Don't have any tatts or piercings apart from ears though, too much of a wimp.

BrutusMcDogface · 03/07/2018 22:11

Colourful hair is all the rage now. It's not confined to a certain age or image, imo. It's everywhere!

Do it!

Celticmombella · 03/07/2018 22:17

@immortalmarble
Maybe get some clip in hair colour pieces to try or hair chalk... It just washes out... Use it around the house or if you go away for a weekend. Try it out temporarily and enjoy your life... You're only young... Live life and enjoy it... Life is too short

imnotreally · 03/07/2018 22:17

I’m 38. Last year I had a daith piercing and a helix piercing (first non lobe piercings) and this year had my hair dyed oil slick. Do what you like xx

Asmallrole · 03/07/2018 22:18

When I asked my tattooist if I was too old to start having tattoos she said 'how will people know how old you were when you got them done? I don't put a date on them !'
I started having children at 18 and had the last at 34 so by the time I'd raised the last one to adulthood damn right I'm doing exactly what I want now.

Hoppinggreen · 03/07/2018 22:20

I’m 46 and I dye my yummy Mc mummy highlights pastel pink.
I love it and even my mum ( who never knowingly compliments anyone) says she likes it
